Google Earth claims to use satellite imagery. Is Google lying?

Most people have looked at Google Earth or Google maps to view places they know, such as their own house.  I, for one, can confirm that Google's images of my house are accurate.  The only FE-consistent theory I can come up with is this:

Satellites don't exist, and Google is using images taken from airplanes.  But in order to please the secret worldwide conspiracy, Google tells us they used satellites instead of airplanes.  And all of Google's engineers who use those images are sworn to secrecy about where they came from.

Is this really how FE explains Google's work?  If not, please provide an explanation for the origin of Google's images.

InB4vauxhall: Google is a part of the Satanist conspiracy.  They want you to think the world is round to fuck with your head while the NSA steals all your good shit.

I mean, just look at their logo: have you ever seen such blatant use of Illuminati symbology?   No, neither have I.  Case closed, the world is flat.

I can confirm that I have never seen a cloud over my house while looking at Google Earth.  Funny how they have cloud penetrating photographs.  Or, maybe the photos just come from aircraft?

Because we dont have the tech to take photos when no clouds are about do we? ???

And just for clarification before jora plays his usual cards. We are all well aware that google earth use planes for high resolution photos of the close ups and satilites for the lower resolution wide area shots.

So, you are saying that the satellites just wait until there are no clouds around?  Do they just take a break or something?

I think it is Jroa just trying to be funny.

It is very hard to tell when he is making a joke and when he isn't, as the net result is the same: nobody laughs.

So, JROA, please be clear: are you saying that you think Google is lying or not about using satellites?  I hear you saying maybe this and maybe that, but where do you stand on this?

Google is lying about using satellites, yes. Google Earth photos are taken by planes and balloons.

Also, jroa certainly raises some good points here. I think the lack of clouds on Google Earth is damning hard evidence that the photos are not taken by satellites.

Actually, I think it means they're smart and take picture multiple times and choose the ones without clouds, or take them when there isn't cloud cover.

Damn that only seems like the logical thing someone would do if they wanted to take a picture of something, you know make sure there wasn't anything in the way.

So you're saying they went through billions of images and searched for ones without clouds? On each damn street? You'd need a team of workers larger than the population of Britain to do something like that.

I wonder where they would get all that money from?  ::)

Regardless, there is not one damn cloud on Google Earth. That's very suspicious to me.

Or maybe Google is a technology company that know's how to design and develop software to do what they want it to do.

In this case, they designed a software to process the images and use those without the clouds. [citation - http://techcrunch.com/2013/06/26/google-removes-all-the-clouds-from-google-maps-and-earth/]

Obviously Google is able to detect and blur license plates in their street view images.  I'm sure that's an automated process using image analysis and pattern matching techniques, just like they would do to detect clouds.  It's advanced software engineering, but it's neither magic nor evidence of a vast conspiracy.

Or they could subvert the cost of all that software and take their pictures from fucking planes. You think?  ::)

Or, they could be using satellites because those work better! Or possibly both! Who knows! You sure as hell don't!

Vauxhall: is it your position that nothing can orbit the earth, and therefore all satellites that any government or private company has claimed to launched are hoaxes, Google just being one of the latest?

Vauxhall: I appreciate your unambiguous answer (seriously).
Is it also your position that the reason all of these dozens (or hundreds?) of companies and governments lie about having launched satellites (rather than just telling the truth about how they get their high altitude images) that they are forced to support the vast round earth conspiracy?

What are you talking about?  Your question was about why there are no cloud in google earth, it was answer.

What do planes have to do with the statement?
