According to the lazy man's research guide it is 18 in Australia or 16 with permission from a court and both parents (rarely granted).

Here's the Marraiges Act 1961, it's in PART II, section 12 onwards describes all the circumstances of getting married when you're 16 or 17 - which you may be able to do without your parent's consent (I only skimmed through it so I'm not positive about that but there's a section about it).

As a side note, section 94 states that you can go to jail for 5 years for bigamy.

So basically Australia's law on marriage is: one spouse per person, wait your turn (e.g. 16+) but we do give refunds.

I have worked the 18 out of the last 20 days. Earnt about $1000 this week, although would love a day off.

Anyway, in celebration of that fact that the crisis is pretty much over, the other manager and I went out to our local and played pool. My brother eventually showed up and I won 2 our of 3 games. Actually I've been schooling my pool hard, and I smashed him - sinking all 8 in 4 shots.

During this time, I managed to get both stoned and drunk.

Oh I should mention, although I've been earning a lot, I've also been paying off a lot of bills, and ended up with all my food for the fortnight, but absolutely no money. Although around $1800 coming in next week.

Anyway we went along to my brothers nerdy poker nights (I say nerdy because they're all made up of nerds - not because poker is nerdy). There were 11 of us playing and it included the Catholic girl I made cry, and another girl who I have a strong dislike for, over a number of issues. Anyway I proceeded, after my brother put in for me, to get even more stoned, through a whitey, vomit all over the toilet, come down and play another hand or two, fall asleep on the couch, wake up still in the game, and then go on, from short stack - to overall winner :D.

I think when you can win poker, fall asleep and vomit all over the floor in the one night, that's pretty much nirvana.

So it's nice to have some money to last me until Saturday now too.

Also in completely unrelated news, I may have organised myself a free trip to Europe to play footbag. We'll have to wait and see though, I'm unsure if I'll hang around while I'm there, or just stay for the weekend. Still it should be fun.

I rock.

Have you considered that you might be gay? It just sounds like you've got deep seated issues with girls and not actually with what they stand for individually.

I can play the beginning of 'Soma City Ward' by Slash's Snakepit onguitar. Not so amazing, but I've always wanted to be able to play it, it was one of my targets. Therefore, I rock. And, at peak performance, I can hit 4 notes a second ( of course only on a lick I made myself, but still).

The Catholic girl is the girl I made cry on new years - she's one of only 2 girls I've ever made cry in a discussion, and the other one I was breaking up with.  I don't dislike her because she's catholic, I just don't go into the details of why I dislike these people.  In fact I'm fairly sure these two girls mentioned, are the only girls I've mentioned in a negative manner on this forum.

You're entitled to think what ever you like about my sexuality, and if you want to think I'm gay, feel free.  I'm completely comfortable with my sexuality and don't get at all insulted when people infer that my sexual orientation is anything other than heterosexual.

I was just posing the question, maybe it was something you've never thought about and it could have opened your eyes. If you had've been gay and only realised because some random, anonymous bloke posted a question on some strange but fantastic forum think of how much that would have changed your life!!! You could then modify Kevin Rudd's picture so he looks like a drag queen (all homosexual people like to dress up in drag don't you know) and sound a little more camp when you post (another requirement of homosexuality).

Continuing with my line of thinking of taking obscure things unrelated to sex and over anaylysing them until their meaning is completely warped: have you ever considered that you might be into beastiality? Maybe you chose the name "beast" thinking you were using it as "devil's advocate" but subconsciencely you chose it because of your animal lust. Have you ever described yourself as having "animal magnetism"? Perhaps subconsciencely you did this not to describe yourself in the usual definition of the phrase but to hint at your unbridled, sexual passion for critters of all shapes and sizes.

You have many qualities I think are lame but this is not one of them and it's the only one that comes to mind that I actually like about you. I think we could even extend it to, "I don't bother to get insulted." It's a good trait that many people on this forum have yet to master.

Thanks for those kind words at the bottom of your post midgard :P.

I played poker again tonight, and smashed it home again.

One guy on the table afterwards said "shame that the worst two players won" - which is interesting, because I only won about 5 hands, and folded every single other hand - Playing Texas of course, so I would have stayed in some a little.  Not a bad effort for such a bad player, especially since I've now won my last two games.

edit: it's also good because I'm broke until pay day, when I'll be super rich, so a little extra money to hold me over until Friday is fairly sweet.

Played indoor soccer today.

Won 17 to 3.  That's a flogging.  Kicked a bunch of goals, as did everybody.  Had fun. Sweated like a pig.

I rock because, today, instead of losing my job for cussing a customer out and threatening to come to their house and murdering them.. I kept my mouth shut..
and took care of what the customer needed..
I work for a company called digital landing and I get cable internet, cable phone and cable tv service hooked up for people.. The guy wanted to tell me that MY company sucks and that I need a brain..
right..
I need alot of things..
a shot gun being one of them.

You're so cold, but you feel alive
Lay your hands on me one last time

Show me how it end it's alright
Show me how defenseless you really are
Satisfy an empty inside
That's alright, let's give this another try
