Coriolis Effect
« on: February 14, 2014, 02:32:10 PM »
Science tells us that wind is effected by the earths rotation, we call it the Coriolis Effect, or force.  It is why waether patterns rotate towards the right on the Northern Hemi, and to the left in the Southern Hemi.

FEers, can you please explain to me how you debunk this, and then explain these weather patterns on a flat earth, in the absence of such a force.

Is this another one of those toilet flushing claims?

The Coriolis Effect does not have any effect on toilets or drains. It Does dictate the direction of our weather patterns..

For a person who so vehemently believes in one particular theory (more a religious faith in the absence of any evidence of course), it seems curious to me how ignorant you are of many things around you. Interesting.

If you'd like to confirm the directional tendencies of wind, then perhaps your local weather forecaster might help.. you know, those people that predict the weather based on sound scientific knowledge, including which way the wind is influenced by the spinning earth - something that is CRITICAL to weather forecasting.

So, I guess I'll have to wait for someone else to debunk it, and explain the mechanics of the flat earth version lol

And there is no other explanation, right?  Maybe the gravitational pull of the stars has something to do with it?  Or, maybe, it is just the way the aetheral winds twist?  But no, it has to be that the Earth is round, right?

IN other words, as with everything else you have nothing.

Gravitational pull from the stars??  Wait, FEers don't believe in gravity OR space.. Or stars... so whats with that?

Maybe its the way the winds twist?! lol  wow man, its the vibe of it all..

Does the wind smoke dope too?  I reckon you might.

The Coriolis Effect is one of thousands of things that support the fact that the Earth is round... it explains why we have weather systems that are clockwise in the north, and anti clockwise in the south.  It is also the BASIS of our knowledge of the weather by which we can then forecast the weather. Without which none of our forecasts would work...

In fact, without weather satellites, something you think doesn't exist - but does regardless of what drug you've taken today, we could not track cyclones and tornadoes..(I hope you know what they are?).  Without the pictures from those Satellites, we coudlnt predict the speed, direction and intensity of these cells as we do on a daily basis...  As a pilot i rely on Satellite data, Satellite pictures every time i fly a plane.

Do you know what the weather is doing today? You do, because of the Coriolis Effect - for if the earth was flat -the effect would still be there, but we would not see counter rotating weather patterns north to south. They would be rotating one way or the other, uniformly. Assuming your flat earth is spinning.. Given your description of a flat earth changes daily, I can't predict if it spins today or not.

Yes, because when I drain my sink, it flows in the opposite manner than yours does.

lol, you RE'rs are constantly trying to pass this off as evidence and we have to constantly shoot it down.

No it doesnt. The Coriolis effect has not affect on drains.

Now answer the question.

I know you can't which is why you constantly deflect.

I'll answer your question as best I can.  Please just repeat the question.

The stars swirl overhead in a certain direction.  The weather follows that pattern.

I am not the sure what your problem is.  You ask for answers and I give them to you.  Then you make it sound like I am the crazy one.  Did I come to The Flat Earth Society for answers?

I came here in the disbelieve that a group of people could be so stupid to believe the earth is flat.

You've provided me wrong, there are people that stupid, you take the cake actually..

Your answers are not answers.. making stuff does not constitute an answer...

I'm done with this.

I see you are finally beginning to question your round Earth indoctrination.  Good for you.  I will help in anyway that I can.
