I agree w/ you. I would have shot @ the kid for pounding my head into the cement too, but WHY was Zimmerman even confronting the kid after being told NOT to by the Police Authorities? & this mess w/ his girlfriend is just proof that the guy's an idiot.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of this.  His last encounter with the law turned out to be largely lies told by his ex.

I heard the 911 tape.  On first blush, she did not sound like someone who had a person in their house who had pointed a gun at them and had just smashed a glass table.

He was unarmed when police arrived.  It's hard to believe he'd find two people who would would exaggerate events to get him in trouble though.  He just needs to disappear for a few years.

Him being unarmed doesn't mean anything.  He knew the police were coming in, it would have been stupid not to put the gun away.

A Seminole County judge put conditions on Zimmerman's bail: That he cannot return to two Florida addresses; he cannot have contact with the accuser; he cannot possess weapons; he must wear a monitoring device; and he cannot travel outside Florida.

It seems that the man's offence is the textbook case of hooliganism. The destruction of the table & the bullying of the woman classify it as such in my mind. As a hooligan, who nonetheless didn't hurt anyone, 2 years Corrective Labour seems appropriate, maybe three.

The funny thing is you can jump in at any arbitrary point and see the same people arguing the same points, over and over and over, never getting anywhere. It's still going strong last time I checked.

All political questions aside, & what he should be charged w/ also aside, I just think the man is an idiot. Anyone who is lucky to get off w/o punishment in the 1st case should learn how to duck. I mean, I spent 15 hrs in the County Jail in Tennessee, & ultimately I was released & the charges were dropped when my attorney demonstrated to the Court that I was trying to defend myself in the physical altercation I was in, & no one had been hurt. Still, I counted myself damned lucky. I certainly haven't done anything since that would put me in gaol here in Iowa or anywhere else. One would think that Zimmerman would have learned his lesson, especially given his much more serious charges w/ Trayvon & now w/ the girlfriend. What a fool he is!

A man who deserves (after a fair trial) to be sentenced to Corrective Labour for the offence of hooliganism (basically disorderly conduct of a felonious degree, as opposed to the usually non-felony charge of 'disorderly conduct' in US or British jurisdictions), yes. But not a racist. I think he would have shot Trayvon even had he been White, Hispanic, Jewish, or anything else. Zimmerman just strikes me as a complete basketcase of a human being.
