Doctor Who - 50th Anniversery
« on: October 25, 2013, 04:58:37 PM »
I just ordered tickets to see it in the theaters.  In 3D.

Sadly, I missed the very small window to buy tickets for the 23rd but such is life.

Anyone else excited?  Planning to watch it?  Don't care?

Bugger, I didn't know it was at the cinema. And I'm excited for it, but not as excited as I am about Peter Capaldi taking over at xmas.

I saw it and went meh.

It was quickly written and produced so it can fill a plot hole.

It was alright but I thought those old witches were a bit daft.

They were a shout-back to The Brain of Morbius, a Tom Baker story from the seventies.

And Paul McGann was fantastic, in this mini episode, the TV movie (even if the movie itself was rubbish) and in the audio plays. Makes me sad that we never saw him in a proper series.

I expected a response like that. I should really take this prediction, in the future, and not f*cking post.

Honestly, I'd start watching properly with Jon Pertwee as the Doctor, and get some recommendations about which Hartnell and Troughton episodes you should watch. They've dated very, very badly.

Yeah, I loved it. The tom baker cameo was a real shock.

Also, check out 'the five (ish) doctors' which is a hilarious special starring peter Davidson, Colin baker, Sylvester McCoy, and Paul McCann trying to get themselves to star in the fiftieth anniversary special. Brilliantly self-deprecating.
