The term "hot dog" was actually coined when a journalist didn't know how to spell dachshund and was too lazy to look it up in a dictionary.

In the early days before cars were invented, horse power was more to do with actual horses.

In 1956 in Texas, a man was put into the electric chair and who protested his innocence until the switch was pushed. Upon switching on the juice, all the power went out and the man was unharmed.
They repaired the problem and put the man in the chair for a second time then switched on the juice.
This time there was nothing. The switch was operated again, but nothing.
It was later found that it was a faulty switch, which was replaced.
The man was brought back for a third time and they knew that if it failed again, the man would not be executed.
They got him ready and soaked his head with a sponge but just before the switch was pulled, there was a power outage all over the city. The prison guards took the opportunity to finish the man off with lighted candles and the word for death from that day on was called WAXED.

If you're bored try to make clockwise circles with your right foot. While doing this, draw the number “6″ in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction – Pretty interesting, huh?

Pretty annoying, actually.

In France, an executioner was sentenced to death.  With no replacement, the convict had to train his own executioner.  The apprentice successfully executed his master in one swing.

A dull blade or poor aim could warrant the need for several blows to properly execute someone.  Vertebrae aren't exactly easy to cut through and axes of the day did not hold an edge very long.

That's a good question, but I'd prefer a bullet because once decapitated your head has enough blood in it to keep you alive for up to 15 seconds. giving you time to realize that your head was separate from your body.

This was a 17th century French execution.  Beheadings were the method of that time.
