Ask one question and a thousand off-topic posts follow you like little fairies of discussion destruction. What the hell is going on?

RE'ers seem to think that Q&A is for them to debate.  It is sad, but true.

Seriously. It's no wonder most of FES regulars have abandoned the upper fora. It makes you not want to put much effort into posts if you know all is going to follow is ten different garbage posts. By all means, make Thork curator again. Make Saddam moderator. Do something about it, dammit.  >:(

I am what I am. I'm not perfect. You have to accept both sides of me. The useful no nonsense FE pro and the hormonally imbalanced temperamental narcissist with a penchant for internet violence. Its really a choice of volatile activity, injustice and pain or boredom, sterility and a sea of annoying noobs that won't piss off.

I will be the first to admit that Thork was a better Curator than I was.  He just flies off the handle occasionally and basically rage quit.

I would vote for Thork to at least be given Curator status.

Tom Bishop pulled at least his own weight in turning that thread in to a debate.

Tom Bishop gives answers to questions.  They are FE answers.  The forum is FE Q&A, implying that FE questions would be asked and FE answers would be given.

You may or may not be able to see Jroa's response, but here it is:

Tom Bishop gives answers to questions.  They are FE answers.  The forum is FE Q&A, implying that FE questions would be asked and FE answers would be given.

And he is very much correct. FE Q&A is not for debate. You do not argue with what Tom says. You ask, Tom answers, end of discussion.

Th*rk did the right thing and moved a silly post.
It is what all good curators do.
For some reason you can't move posts for any reason for users that have 5 lit squares.
Even Junker won't do it. And he moves everything.
What is really sad that Willmore did not back Th*rk. By this he showed terrible leadership.

Th*rk should not only be given his status back, Willmore should apologize.

I figure if you have that much beef with something, you could put in it Flat Earth Debate. Seems like that's why it's there.

Its FE Q&A. Its not FE Q&A&RC&CBS. You need to stop causing problems.

I personally cannot accept evident falsehoods as answers.  So if someone's answer falls in to that catergory it is not trouble making to rebut or respond.  This is not trouble-making and the hard-line stance being taken is totally unproductive.  However, if a mod were to step in to an actual thread and ask that the debate be shelved, I would of course be respectful, so long as the mod understands that there are sometimes issues of clarification, correction, or elucidation that need to be addressed.

FE Q&A should be purely for question and answer. If you want to debate the answer, do it in the proper forum. You can even leave a link in the Q&A thread if you want. If you can't abide by these simple rules, a ban should be in order.

I think the problem here is many people can't differentiate between asking for clarification on an answer, and challenging an answer to spark debate. The former is acceptable; the latter is unacceptable. In the FE Q&A section, you should be asking question to better understand FET. In the debate sections you may challenge FET.

Different FE models have different answers to the same question.  How are we to know which answers to which models are the correct ones if we are not allowed to explore those answers in greater depth?

I'm sorry but I don't see how asking a question in a Q&A thread then having to discuss that answer in a FED thread is conducive to a productive dialogue.  It sounds to me like you got that idea from the Bureau of Redundancy Department.
