The great Parsifal and PizzaPlanet road trip of 2013
« on: July 19, 2013, 08:09:33 PM »
In about six weeks, PizzaPlanet will be flying into Sydney airport and meeting me. Together, we will embark on four weeks of reckless tomfoolery as we explore the great continent of Australia -- or at least the south-eastern portion of it -- in my shiny new Volkswagen Polo.

The current plan is to make nightly stops in or near Goulburn, Canberra, Orbost, Cowes and Melbourne. After a couple of days in Melbourne, we will catch the ferry to Tasmania and spend nearly a week there, before returning to Melbourne and improvising for the rest of it.

Since PizzaPlanet is 12 years old and cannot drive, I will be doing all the driving on this trip, and thus relying on PizzaPlanet's camera to provide you with saucy pictures of all the interesting places we visit. The first attraction is the Kiama blowhole, so stay tuned in about six weeks!
I'm going to side with the white supremacists.

Nothing about this can possibly turn out badly.

I am still marking myself as tentative for the latter part of Melbourne.  Had I known earlier I wouldn't have booked as many vacations this summer already and would have been freely available.

I might be able to come to the Kiama blowhole, depending on what I'm doing. Kiama is a really nice place.

While this specific part of my trip will no doubt be the highlight of it, you're all encouraged to follow my more general thread about my whole trip: http://www.theflatearthsociety.org/forum/index.php/topic,59270.0.html - starting in a week from now!

I might be able to come to the Kiama blowhole, depending on what I'm doing. Kiama is a really nice place.
Let's make this happen. The more, the merrier.

The plan is to leave very early in the morning, and get to Kiama by 08:00. Then we'll have breakfast (preferably at a local place in Kiama, but worst case scenario at the Albion Park Rail McDonald's) and head west towards Mittagong and Goulburn. We won't be returning to Sydney for another few weeks, so you'd need to bring your own car to get home.

If all that is fine with you, come right along.

I definitely can't go too far, but a morning meet up would be cool. Depends on my uni timetable at the moment, so I'll check back in a few weeks.

Why don't you want to just sit at home and play on the computer? I'm not even trying to be sarcastic or anything. But as a fellow introvert, I can say I wouldn't enjoy a several week long escapade across any country. It would be so much nicer to just stay at home on the computer.

A preference of sitting at home all day is not related to being an introvert.

Incorrect.

Incorrect, an introvert can still enjoy being out, looking at/doing things, just as long as there's minimal human interaction involved.
I don't know what you're implying, but you're probably wrong.

This. I am an introvert and I enjoy being out. I also enjoy traveling and going on road trips very much. I just don't want to be around many people if any. I only really enjoy doing things with close friends.

Going out increases your chances of human interaction, which is why many introverts prefer to stay at home where they are comfortable. While prefering to stay at home is certainly not a condition of being an introvert, it is definitely related.

Not as cute a couple as Vongal/Vongeo or there more popular couple name Vongeo.
Vongeo is a wanker, he wears a wanker hat; he always smells like urine and he thinks the Earth is flat.

No longer is this sentence is cut in half. Jekra!

I enjoy sitting at home all day and playing on the computer. It's what I do with most of my time. I also enjoy doing something different every now and then. Also, we're going to spend most of our time in cars and motel rooms - it's not like there are going to be other people there.

I've always wanted to go to Australia. I think it's because I watched The Rescuers: Down Under about 500 times when I was a kid. The accent is pretty cool too.
