I had to defriend someone who kept posting pictures of semi-nude men. Mostly because I was getting 10 updates a day from the guy.

But Orbis, I'm including straight guys in this too. None of my straight guy friends post suggestive pictures.

I've seen my friend's Facebook feed enough to see all the barely-clothed women that'll show up when you have a bunch of regular guys on your friends list. (De)motivational posters with cleavage or "jailbait" or various witty(?) sentences lauding female assets. It was pretty eugh, 'cause I'm even more of a prude than you are, but yeah. From what I've seen, guys'll share that kind of stuff just as much, while it may not necessarily be their own photos. It just depends on the type of person.
I guess it depends on the kind of people you're friends with then, cause my heterosexual guy friends don't post stuff like that. It never occurred to me that people would post sexual pictures on a social media site where friends just try and stay connected. I mean, I'm friends with my family members. It just seems so inappropriate and classless to me. It's not reddit or 4chan or a gay dating site.

Anyway, I guess I just felt guilty for wanting to call him out on being gross.
I'll post the picture whenever I actually get on my computer, I'm sure you're all dying to see it.

And Supes, you think you're a bigger prude than me? The one who had a whole anti-porn thread? I'm shocked.

Posting harmless text is not sexual at all.
Yet when I do it, I'm being creepy. ::)

You want to know who is creepy? You are creepy, you creepy stalker! >o<

Thork, stop asking rooster to sextmessage you.  You are creepy.

It's because of attention seeking.

The thing that annoys me about some gay people, not all, is that they want attention for being gay. It looks like that's what your friends doing.

If you're gay then why do you have to keep reinforcing that fact with people? It seems being gay makes you appear to be cool.

There are, it's human nature to want attention, but the attention they're getting isn't due to their sexual preference.

However, in a lot of cases it is.  A bunch of dudes standing around talking about their lastest romance or making lewd sexual gestures is no different other than being more accepted.

It was way better when homosexuals kept it to themselves for fear of a good beating. I mean I know that's not PC, but its a system that worked for thousands of years.  :-\

I think you have your facts backwards.  A liberal society would allow a woman to make their own choices in their lives even if we might disagree with it rather than calling them witches and burning them so they will stop.

Really, because you don't seem very content to accept the views of racists, homophobes and sexists? In fact you like to get out the pitchforks and scream "Racist" and persecute that person until they are forced to lose their job or any position of status.
The thing is, you are quite flexible with your definition of a racist. You will liberally apply it to someone who vehemently objects to immigration policies or affirmative action.
You are the easily riled up peasants of the modern age. The baying mob.

There's a reason for that.  I support individual rights until they begin to infringe on the rights of others, which coincidently beating gays to keep them in the closet would tend to do.

It's different. I know someone who's gay and one of the first things they tell someone is that they're gay.

It's like some vegetarians. One of the first things that comes up in a discussion with them is the fact that they're vegetarian. It's an implied thing which somehow makes them special.

Being gay or vegetarian etc... does not make anyone special.

Well, I can't say for certain, but I think I am. Maybe the difference being that I'm a super-prude myself but I don't really care what others do. XD

I agree there are some that are like that, but it's more of an effect of finally being able to have that kind of freedom to be openly gay. Though that doesn't necessarily make it any better.

(And PP, I'm actually not annoyed by any of my friends on FB cause I'm quick to defriend repeat offenders. He has grossed me out but it's a first time occurrence. But he does looove to take pictures of himself topless since he started working out. His time may be coming.)

Because being openly gay is only something that has been possible in the last 3 years. ::) How old is your friend? Its been fine to be openly gay for more than 30 years. It was decriminalised more than 50 years ago. I doubt your friend has ever known a time when the law would not protect his 'right' to be gay.

Same-sex sexual activity has only been legal since 1996 and we allow discrimination against sexual orientation.

Caption reads: Do it like I showed you.

What's also interesting is that no one has really commented too much on it positively or negatively. Like, we're all too uncomfortable about calling him out on being gross. I said an ambiguous "wow" some guy did say "mmm, yummmy" but then some other guy said "ummmm...?" and that's it. With everything going on for their rights in America, it just seems like everyone is too uncomfortable to say anything against the inappropriate behavior.
