I tried one of these today. Someone I know is quitting. They are useless. Its not like having a cigarette at all. You don't get the burn down the back of your throat, the hit if you will.

For the record I gave up smoking about 2.5 years ago. I just went cold turkey. I'd do it that way again. These don't help.

An agency staff had one at work that was about £80, was actually really good. The cheap ones are not good though. I prefer the real thing though.

Worked extremely well for me.  Quit cigarettes in a week.  I don't use the shitty disposable ones though.  And yes it certainly does give you a throat and lung hit if you get the variable voltage batteries.

The real thing is better, but I do think that is it ridiculous they are trying to restrict and even ban these things.

There's a lot of money in tobacco, these newfangled cigarettes are going to rub a lot of interests the wrong way.

Oh people make enough of tobacco. In the uk it's all tax that you pay for. The tax man just wants to get in on these too now.
Could always grow my own tobacco... My friends grow their own smoking material.

Tobacco is a lot harder to grow and process than other common smoking materials.

I myself do.
Unfortunately I still smoke a pack a day.  :(

I have this.  Much better than tobacco now that I switched.  Easiest way to quit IMO.

The best way to quit is to not start smoking in the first place.

I quit accidentally when I forgot to have one. I had been smoking daily for six or seven years at that point, it was remarkably easy and probably spurred on by the nagging desire to stop being gassy, a desire which has now been fulfilled. As such I have no need for these, but I always thought they looked silly anyway.

Yes. I don't smoke and God loves me for it.

2 months tobacco free today.  Went to the doctor and showed him the e-cig.  Mainly to ask health questions, he was overjoyed and even wanted the address of the place so he could send other patients there.

Like them, though I do recall one huge issue with them being the fight between big pharm and big tobac. Pharm, iirc, wanted them to be mandated as anti-smoking drugs.
The illusion is shattered if we ask what goes on behind the scenes.
