This is some impressive effects work by our rivals at NASA.

Of particular note is the mirror on the back of the actors hand, the reflection every so often shows the studio lights.

Or perhaps that's the Sun.

Again, we have the all powerful NASA duping nearly everyone, yet they somehow made the idiotic mistake of deliberately putting a mirror on which immediately ruins their subterfuge.

Why even bother putting out these videos then? They could put a short news article that nobody would ever doubt or even pay much attention to. Who would care or complain if NASA did not put out any videos at all?

I've been paying close attention now to the mirrors and haven't seen anything. Watch now they're in darkness!

It would be nice to talk about the EVA itself. But the problem is it shows live and I don't know if they're archived anywhere on the internet.

NASA's budget in 2011 was approx $18.4 billion. 0.5% of the $3.4 trillion federal budget.  Cheaper than air conditioning for the soldiers in Iraq.

Recipe for an expensive scam:
- tell people you're exploring Mars. Provide tons and tons of photographs.
- tell the world you're orbiting the Earth every 50 minutes. make something viewable in every part of the world fly overhead at the right time. Also provide millions of photographs and thousands of videos.
- tell people you've got satellites orbiting and photographing Saturn and Mercury. Provide thousands of photographs.
- Make 1,067 hours of footage of spacewalks outside the orbiting space station.
- ? ? ?
- Profit? ? ?

I wonder who is on the hook for funding this deception - would it entirely be NASA? or the respective agencies from the other member nations who contribute to the ISS program.

Here's my point. Apollo 13 was not cheap to make but what was the total output? 140 minutes. How many minutes of the movie required special effects?

How is NASA so much more efficient than Hollywood?  How was 1969-1980 (random years chosen) better and more economically efficient than 1995-present day Hollywood?

NASA's output is FAR FAR greater than Hollywood's space special effects. But if they are a conspiracy, they still require actors to be paid, directors to be paid, studio engineers to be paid, CGI people to be paid. How do they profit after all this and their endless supply of special effects output??

Perhaps the men at the top of the power structure have found a way to monetize their knowledge of the true shape of the earth, and are funding the production of vast amounts of media through back channels?

Or, maybe there is another alien force at work that is using technology not available to us to provide ultra convincing fabricated content?

Interesting thoughts but that line of reasoning is dangeriously theoretical.

I love how lame the actual CGI of NASA looks like. You know, those where they show some satellite in orbit... it looks like something I could do in a few hours.

If NASA's such a CGI beast, why don't they do those scenes a little bit better?

There really is no "direct observation" in observing pictures.

Kendrick is my favorite Zetetic and I would say I have no idea how to argue this topic with him. 

To examine the pictures and videos you can draw the conclusion that they are fake or that they're real. I would imagine it's not very Zetetic to hypothesize the reality of the two conclusions because if either is possible in any way there is no reason to favor one conclusion over the other.

Discarding Zetetic methods we come to logical thinking. Logically, does it add up having thousands maybe millions of people apart of a world-wide cover up? Can we inspect the details of this hypothetical coverup and maintain our logical thinking?

Well, sorry if it sounds a bit pedantric, but as we observe an identified and original source (not an anonymous youtube crap) , we can assume that it is a direct observation.

I'm not arguing about the images being fake or not, as I agree that they are inconclusive.

I only caught the final 10 minutes of this broadcast, but I saw 10 minutes straight, uncut, of no-gravity footage. Suni Williams was live with quite a lot of media outlets... like The View, CNN, ABC News... the videos are like 20 minutes so trying to find a relevant current event being reference seems really like a tedious task.

 But I did find that Suni talks about the Olympics and Ali Raisman at 4:50.

A better response would be to name all the astronauts you haven't heard of. If they aren't very sociable they're not in the public eye.

Some people wear necklaces because they have emotional value. But maybe some just put up the necklace for the camera, it looks real cool.

It's another one of the pointers toward "Why would NASA be faking this?" They'd just lose the necklace instead of going all CGI on it... the same with a lot of other details that don't even get noticed but are there if you look for them. Faking all that is just loads of extra money they lose.
