We all everybody!

That said, I'm removing the short ban I gave thork concerning his language and poor behavior.  He still will not have his curator powers for at least the time being.  I'm sure Wilmore will be here tonight or soon to help, though I understand he has been very busy.  I appreciate his time in this matter, if he has it.

Yes, you are in over your head now. My 10 minute ban forced me to make a cup of tea and eat a biscuit whilst I pondered my next move. You are out of control Davis. Retribution will be swift. >:(

I moved it back and explained to Thork that Lizard People as a part of the conspiracy has long been part of the flat earth theory in some circles.  He got mad and tried to move it back.  I put it back one last time, and he started crying about it and derailing a thread or some such.  Thus, I removed his powers for a week.

Was Thorks ban justified?

you can't really call it a ban.

However, he did lose power. But I don't think users have a say on JD's decisions.

I believe Th*rk's powers should be reinstated.

We have Willmore to ask this. He is our only hope.

This is not what happened at all. Lizardmen occurred once before when I made a thread that got binned within about 2 mins of me posting it. That's the precedent for lizardmen threads. Nowhere does Rowbotham or Voliva refer to lizardmen. They are David Icke's creation.

I moved it.
You moved it back.
I moved it again thinking you'd realise you were being silly.
You removed my mod powers and moved it back.

So now we have one less person looking after the forums, cleaning spam, addressing mod reports and keeping order, and one more thread about lizardmen in the upper forums. Today common sense took a beating. :(

This probably should have been handled privately, and not made a public spectacle.  Nothing good can come of this.

After reading the arguments, I must side with Thork. The thread does not belong in flat earth general. If anything, it belongs in the believers only section or the repository.

One can't really discuss a post when the post is written to dismiss an argument without discussion. An argument, I might add, that is very rarely brought up.

Thork was doing his job. He plays no favorites and treats all equally.  He may be over the top on occasion, but ultimately, he does more good than not.

May not always agree with him but I do know this: Thok'salways tries to act in the best interest of this forum.  Search your feelings John, you know that thread was pointless.

Is the idea that an admin outranks a curator really so controversial?  Whether or not the thread belongs in the FE forums isn't the issue.  There is a process to dispute these decisions.

The problem is Thork not listening to the powers over him. Maybe he thought moving lizard man was the right move. When John moved it back, that should be the end of it. You will not get anywhere in an organization bucking the powers over you.

There is not one rule for John Davis and one for the rest of you. I'd have moved your thread about lizardmen and he would have done nothing to stop me. In a community you need to apply rules across the board. When the rich and powerful flaunt rules, its usually called corruption. Davis is corrupt.

I don't like the idea of rank when it comes to what threads are or aren't allowed in the various forums. Even a king must obey the laws.

The thread was fine in FEG as far as I'm concerned. It was sufficiently linked to (or discussed in the light of) the Round Earth Conspiracy to be posted in FEG.

As for Thork, he resigned some time ago, and it had already been agreed in the mod board that he would no longer be a curator, especially with all the drama originating thence. Case in point.

I guess that's everything?

So you're pretty much saying that Thork was fired from a job that he already quit?  ???
