Has anyone actually seen the "Ice Wall"?
« on: October 17, 2006, 06:32:00 AM »
Has anyone actually seen the "Ice Wall".  The reply I expect is, "The guards kill anyone who goes near it!!!".  That won't work.  Unless anyone has been to this wall and taken pictures from the top,  then how is it proven?  And how do we know that these guards really exist in the first place if no one has seen them?  As far as I know, no one has ever given a straight answer to this question.

Surely if this is The Flat Earth Society then you can't convince people of anything with your claim that lack of evidence = lack of existence.  If you want to suggest the ice wall doesn't exist the burden of proof must be on you.

tsk tsk tsk... why don't you read the latest news? an expedition is being sent to the icewall - more like a war against the icewall guards. the taskforce has the terrific name "flat-earth liberators". members currently include regular people, like you and me. wanna join?

It's quite devious the way you people emplace the burden of evidence on to those who highlight your lack of logic. How is it feasible to prove something to you when our contradiction is only taken from knowledge of the (reputable) spherical world? With regards to this matter, you're only going to suggest some arbitrary drivel along the lines of "What you thought was Antarctica is something completely different." And then "back it up" with your inconclusive statement: "Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." We might as well argue with a brick wall.......

No it's nothing like arguing with a brick wall.  The problem is that we see the world differently.  The REers on this forum are trying to do a completely different thing on this forum to the FEers and so you keep coming with points that have nothing to do with the reasons why the FEers are arguing the Earth is flat.  If you want to be able to have engaging debates on this website first you have to try to figure out what the purpose of most of the FEers on this site is (and here's a free tip, it's not to prove that the Earth is flat).

There are Ice Walls and mountains on the earth that are so high [sheer] that they are the ones that cause the shade period, or night. As the sun orbits above us, it is also the farthest thing from the earth but the closest to the sky, it therefore orbits behind the mountains and ICE WALL, and not the one at the antarctic circle. The aurioboralisis is the reflection of those sheer ice walls. See "Phaedos" Socrates for the sizes and colors of gold and gems on those parts of the earth. I'm the one who revealled all this to him.

Mr. Beast:

As I've tried to pound into your flat head, there are mountains of evidence to prove you wrong, but you (and your kind) claim it is all fake and part of a conspiracy. What hope is there for anyone to convince you if you refuse to consider the possibility?

I don't intend to convince you of anything, I'm just here to poke fun, and perhaps amuse myself in the process.

Not unless you do a better job of explaining it.

Also, being so high, no one can see them from anywhere on earth. And auroraborealis only affects ice of the ice wall. All other ice in the world is immune to that effect.

And in case you're wondering, the fact that the tall ice wall is the closest thing to the sun and doesn't melt, is because it's made of unmeltable ice all over. It also extends well under the sea. That ice, in addition to not ever melting, can support the weight of all those millions of tons of ice on top, because it's harder than metal. It's been supporting that weigt for thousands of years without letting up.

Of course, it would be useful to use that special ice in everyday life, seeing as it is so wonderful. But the conspirators are not interested in harvesting it.

Where are your numbers to support this claim?  The distance can easily be figured out with a little trig.  The shortest distance from the sun to the top of the ice wall is 12806.3 miles.  Thus making it the one of the two furthest places from the sun, the other being the geographic north pole.

What effect is that?
