How come I can't see Mount Everest from Texas?

Funny, in your post that I quoted before your edit, which hasn't been edited itself, the word "curve" is not misspelled.

If you look at the time between when I quoted you and time you edited your post you'll see that I posted nearly an hour before you took that out. How would I anticipate that you would choose to fix that particular spelling mistake a full hour before you did?

GeoGuy is saying that in his quote of your post, the word "curve" isn't misspelled, and edits to posts don't effect quotes on that post. I suggest you read your (edited) post and then GeoGuy's quote of that post.

Not that far, actually. I stood on the summit of a 6000' mountain and was only able see about thirty miles in all directions, and not because of Earth's curvature.

So you do admit the earth is round. Thats what I interpret the "and not because of Earth curvature" part of the sentence as saying.
