I guess I need to get Ocarina of Time for the N64.  Never played it.  I have the collector's edition, but it's unopened.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a gamecube version- same game, better graphics?

There was The Legend of Zelda: Collector's Edition, which came with a GameCube I bought.  There was also a special version that came with Wind Waker preorders, I think.

YTeah, it was a disc which contained Zelda 1, 2 Majora's mask (Which is why I bought it), Ocarina of Time and OOT Master Quest which basically ramps up the difficulty level in Ocarina of Time and re-works the dungeons.

The graphics are the same. However, the 3DS remake of Ocarina of Time is great (aside from all the horror removed from the Bottom of the Well in Kakariko Village. The Dead Hand goes from creepy (in the original) to a weird blob of jelly (in the 3DS version), as well as the blood and torture being removed. I was very, very unhappy to see the place that have me nightmares as a child reduced to just another mini-dungeon. :[

As long as the adult version of the Castle Town is the same. The ReDead are terrifying.

Incorrect, as long as we're talking about the Zelda series. Not sure about real life.

Yes, cuccos- the only chickens in the game. They can kill you.

Cuccos, yes. I was wondering how long I could keep that up before someone would catch on. :'D Cuccos are not chickens.

Right? I mean, if it looks like a chicken and sounds like a chicken...

They look like hens, but they sound like roosters.  Maybe that's it.  They wanted crowing hens.

Because they can carry people, swim, come in various shades and shapes, and are murderous beasts!

They can't carry people.  And who says chickens can't swim?

I think the graphics are just about the same.
Guess I'll get whichever one I come across first.  Sucks about the toning down of the 3DS version though.

Open the collectors edition!
I'll ponder it.  I've heard too many variations on the value of it to just up and open it.

Obligatory image:

(even still has the hanger from the store  :) )

Sure they can. Not for long, but they can do it (and a certain breed from Link's Awakening can forever).

And most chickens can't swim. Some can, sure, but that's more of an exception I'm pretty sure, whereas Cuccos swim proficiently.

I wonder why they didn't just call them chickens.

You sound like one of those penguins that watches somebody playing Crash Bandicoots and says 'Get that apple! There's an apple over there! You've collected quite a lot of apples.'

Nostalgia'd hard.

Zelda has taught me to respect computer-generated farm animals.  the first thing my brother did in Skyrim after walking into town was to stabb the chickens scratching around. I watched in terror, fully expecting the flock of murderous avians Zelda made a mainstay.

If you attack the pig on Outset Island in Wind Waker, it does more damage than any enemy in the game.

Wind Waker needed cuccos. It did.

So Link's Awakening is the reason for the slowdown here. I have not managed to get into it all that much. :[ I am going to try to push through it soon, but trying other games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3<3) got in the way and all. Since Ocarina of Time is next and I've beaten than many times, I'm gonna play the Master Quest version instead when I play. I only got one chance to try that before, and I was fairly young. So it'll be interesting.

No. I'm playing it concurrently with my friend so we can talk about it afterwards, but I'm waiting on him for a chance to play the final episode. :[

Also, just finished Link's Awakening and am now playing Ocarina of Time: Master Quest. I am already taken aback at not instinctively knowing where everything is. I keep looking for things and suddenly being in shock.

This will be fun. :D
