The bottom of the earth
« on: January 15, 2013, 01:17:08 PM »
"What does the earth look like?
The earth is in the form of a disk with the North Pole in the center and Antarctica as a wall around the edge. This is the generally accepted model among members of the society. In this model, circumnavigation is performed by moving in a great circle around the North Pole.

The earth is surrounded on all sides by an ice wall that holds the oceans back. This ice wall is what explorers have named Antarctica. Beyond the ice wall is a topic of great interest to the Flat Earth Society. To our knowledge, no one has been very far past the ice wall and returned to tell of their journey. What we do know is that it encircles the earth and serves to hold in our oceans and helps protect us from whatever lies beyond."

Okay. Okay. I know I just got into this forums. I know I am asking tons of questions. I know I am attacking your belief needs. Put PLEASE, CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? No one has ever been very past from the "ice wall" and returned to tell of their journey. Okay, do you guys think we live in narnia or what? An Ice wall that hold our oceans and protects us from what lies beyond... Unicorns? Pterodactiles? Smart astronomers who can end your fantasy? Seriously, I give up. It is like convincing a 13th century crazed monk that the earth is a sphere. Wait, it is the same thing...

Can an admin delete this post? This guy has obviously not even read the FAQs.

Stop acting like you own this place. Leave it to the administrators and moderators themselves to deal with what should or shouldn't be deleted.

"SOMEONE IS ATTACKING MY BELIEFS WITH REASON, I CAN'T STOP BELIEVING, ADMIN, PLEASE HELP ME!" - You were the one who just called gravity a "magic thing for dumbasses". Answer my questions, if you are not smart enough, leave it to the smart members of the community.

This is not one of the playground forums. There will be furious anger and retribution should you carry on messing about in here. This forum is for serious discussion only. We have a lounge etc for chit-chat.

You have been pre-warned.

Okay, i'm sorry, I'm not gonna do that again. Can you answer the questions, so I'm not gonna make another thread?

I am also particularly interested in this.  Why hasn't a FEer gone to the south pole?  Surely at least one FEer has a pilot's license.

What are you trying to ask/debate here?  I find it hard to follow, and why wouldn't one expect to find pterodactyls in Antarctica?

How would we know what lies beyond the Ice Wall?  Like the FAQ says, no one's been out that far and back.

The line 'and protects us from what lies beyond' is a rather hypothetical one. We really don't know what's out there. In some theories it's the UA, which is probably not particularly healthy to be exposed to. In the infinite plane models, there could be anything.

I am also particularly interested in this.  Why hasn't a FEer gone to the south pole?  Surely at least one FEer has a pilot's license.

Why should we? We know what we're going to find there. The Admundsen-Scott Base.
