What got all the people who build and used ships with a Crow's nest over the whole past from there participation in the conspiracy again? I couldn't find it at the FAQ :P

I'm unclear on how you think this contests FET.  Obviously we recognize that there's a limit to how far one can see and that that distance increases at greater heights.

That sailors needed an unobstructed view of the seas around them, and the only way to provide that was to place them above the sails, rigging, etc?
