I'd like to volunteer to help manage a sub-forum to help us, as a community, update the content of the Wiki. Tom Bishop, I understand, does work on the wiki on a fairly regular basis, and his efforts are appreciated, I'd just like for there to be a sub-forum here where motivated members like myself can lend a hand with compiling information, organizing it, making outlines, expanding stubs into more fluent articles, and implementing those changes that the community approves. I'm also an able writer, as are many of our other members, and I've done some wiki editing, so I can help in that regard as well if necessary.
This isn't an effort to seize some sort of control over the content here, let me emphasize that I want the content to be developed by the community, I just want to take the opportunity to organize the effort and get the wiki in better shape than it is currently. I realize that there are discussion functions in the wiki itself, but I feel like the forum here is a better place to get input from the community, as few of us go to the wiki often, and even fewer peruse the histories there.
Is this something I can do to help? Am I overstepping my bounds as "best noob" by offering? I hope not. I just get tired of seeing (and writing) posts that explain that the wiki's not complete or always accurate.
