New Space Exploration - Ruh roh!!!!

Do any of the FE'rs here want to take a guess at how many current private company projects exist to place mini satellites WITH FLAT LENS TECHNOLOGY into space for the purposes of allowing cost effective space photography?

These are very small companies, not government owned, actually most of them are tech companies started by college grads located in Silicon Valley and are start-ups.  Their goal is to "rent" their mini satellites to anyone who wants to take and download pictures from space.  Most of these satellites are the size of a bread box or smaller and will have very high end HD cameras on them.  I have personally contacted 4 of the 27...yes 27 companies currently in their funding process and asked them to provide the specifications on the HD cameras they will be using.  I even made sure to ask if they were going to use any fish eye lens technology and all 4 came back with a resounding "no".

So...in the not to distant future...you and I will be able to spend a few bucks and take pictures of space or pictures of the Earth from space.  So be prepared to receive your "Global Conspiracy Affirmation Contract" once you purchase time on one of these mini sats. 

Let's face it.  We will ALL have to be in on the conspiracy now!  Geesh!

That line pretty much sums up the entire space industry.  It's always some time in the future that these companies will deliver on their promises, never now.  Although they will take your money now.  People fell for this scam forty years ago, they fall for it now, and I'm sure they'll still be falling for it forty years from now.

Saddam is correct. There were companies in the 1950's advertising in science magazines that they were taking deposits for rocket trips to the moon. I doubt any of those people got their money back.
