do you think the flat earth society is like an angry child rebelling against authority?

you see the argument stated often that globalists just appeal to authority and thats posted as a negative thing as if we shouldnt trust the capitalist machine.

do you think old sam was just a rebel of the time, i sometimes think if he was just trying to pull a publicity stunt. maybe to sell his fizzy pop or his inventions. oh it would be funny if he was just making a big fool of people and is laughing now at people still backing him up 150 years later!

SB gets a lot of stick round here but if im remembered in 150 years time id think that was a success.

He is talking about the stubbornness to accept wide ranging facts that all point to the conclusion of a round earth.  FE believers must have something other than logic clouding their judgement... Just like when a teenager rebels and does things they know are stupid but since an authority figure told them these things, they choose to diliberately o against the grain for the SAKE of going against the grain.

not quite. im saying is the fes more like a rebellion than an actual belief. realistically i dont think anybody truly believes that the earth is flat, now thats not an attack on anybody. what i mean is, is the modern day fes more about keeping up a past time.

my rabble on SB is just my own idea that he was just making a publicity stunt that a handful of people bought into.

I think that is a pretty spot on assessment.  I think they see it as a broadside into the (apparent) smug over-confidence of modern science.
Fine, I'll spell it out to you. All stones (that are in moving water) eventually become flat due to erosion. If the earth were round, one would expect that the stones would show some curvature due to the curvature of the way the water would have to flow over a round

No duke, that's just how it appears to you because they are going against your fundamental belief. I'm not making a post to attack anything/body.
