i must admit i have only read the rules today. usually if your not a twat you wouldnt break rules anyway even without knowing them...

however i have 2 concerns and although they have not been flagged i just want to make sure its ok.

you are not allowed to post illegal content - i have wild magic mushrooms as my profile picture, technically they are not illegal in this state and i have that picture because its rather nice looking, to me anyway.

my forum signature is a link to my planet minecraft account. this is both advertising my server and planet minecraft.

neither are intrusive and apart from a few rants and i have advertised my server in pms and on the technology board or perhaps entertainment i dont shout about it every day. im guessing as i have not had a warning yet they are ok? i rather enjoy frequenting the forum as its the only one out side of my own www.no.... lol... that i even post in.

You would make a terrible criminal. If you're getting away with something, just keep doing it. Anyway, I can't speak for the mods, even though I am better than them, but you aren't violating any rule in a way that requires action.

yeh im pretty law abiding anyway :P im just an honest person and the rules are there for a reason and i just wanted to make sure i wasnt annoying anyone by mistake.

thanks roundy, willmore has seen me post but you know sometimes things get missed, i wouldnt want it to be used against me if i called wilmore a flatist or something :P im sure thats not offensive to him but you know what i mean.

I think Illegal usually means the universally illegal stuff like rape, murder, and obscene gestures.

Your signature is fine.  The no ads is mostly about spam moreso than saying "Look at my awesome minecraft server stats!".  That and other forums.  We hate losing people.

The advertising rule is to stop spam. Even if you owned your own printshop or restaurant and had a link in your signature, I don't think anyone would mind as you aren't a faceless spammer. You are a forum member who contributes (and reports everything). A link from you to something you are interested in or own isn't going to be a problem as long as its not obscene or illegal. If it actually helped you and people used that link, that's nice. Because you aren't a faceless spammer who only came here to exploit the site.

Yes, of course there is. Click on your profile, then modify profile, choose notifications, then uncheck the box next to "Turn notification on when you post or reply to a topic".

thork is right, i wanted to remove the number game and septictank off my notifications. both are pointless threads i dont look at.

then my suggestion is to add something to allow it! :)

No, I mean I'm not sure deleting your posts removes the flag in the database that updates you on that post.  In other words, you could delete all your posts and I still think you might get notifications.

I suppose its time to exercise a zetetic approach. You'll have to try it on another thread.

I already know from experience that yes, if you delete all your posts in a certain thread, it will no longer show up under the list of new replies to your posts.
