So far the latest series is pretty good, it's gone a bit more serious, and Jenna-Louise Coleman is pretty hot.
That's good for men, but Matt Smith is hideous. Can't they get an attractive Doctor?

To be honest a fit Doctor would look odd.

The Doctor can't be that fit, it wouldn't really fit the character.

You weirdo Brits really need to stop using the word "fit" to describe attractive people.  It looks all wrong.

What about Paul McGann? (8th canon Doctor)

Or Hugh Grant (Curse of Fatal Death Comic relief special 12th Doctor)

Or even Richard E Grant (Curse of Fatal Death Comic relief special 10th Doctor)

I like Matt Smith. He's adorable.

I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

Ew, Hugh Grant.

You're right, the Doctors don't have to be attractive. I'm just nitpicking because I can't stand the show.

Rose was a terribly ugly and obnoxious chav.

He doesn't look right; he doesn't look like the Doctor.

Was he in the series that didn't do very well and got cancelled?

He was in a movie pilot that failed.

Also, he's American.  That probably explains why it failed.

In fairness, McGann's Doctor was fantastic. Had all the twinkly-eyed charm you expect from the character, it was just that the film itself was badly written and badly execued. It says a lot for his character that he is technically the longest-serving Doctor when you include all the audioplays starring the 8th Doctor (Which continue to be made today)

I think they're setting up a pretty sweet ending to this season. Clara knows his real name now (I know she was supposed to forget it, but I know it will come up again) and I've heard that the finale to this season will resolve the whole 'impossible girl' thing. This gon' be good.

Actually, he isn't.  But the movie was a joint Universal/BBC venture and that's probably why it failed.

Considering the final episode is entitled "The Name of the Doctor"... yeah.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/articles/Matt-Smith-to-leave-Doctor-Who

Quote
The BBC is today announcing that Matt Smith is to leave Doctor Who after four incredible years on the hit BBC One show. Matt first stepped into the TARDIS in 2010 and will leave the role at the end of this year after starring in the unmissable 50th Anniversary in November and regenerating in the Christmas special. During his time as the Doctor, Matt has reached over 30 million unique UK viewers and his incarnation has seen the show go truly global. He was also the first actor to be nominated for a BAFTA in the role.

Can someone please explain what the appeal of this show is supposed to be?  I watched the pilot, and it completely and utterly blew chimp.

Which pilot? the 1963 William Hartnell one, the 1999 Paul McGann one or the 2005 Christopher Eccleston one?

and start with this one:

The 2005 one.  I think you're the only one here who really cares about or watches the others.

You have to force yourself to keep watching, Saddam. I don't know if that makes the show better, or if your mind just lowers its standards of entertainment, but either way forcing yourself to watch it will result in enjoyment of the series.
