My manager came in yesterday with his new iPhone 5. Handed it to a team mate to have a look at. Same team mate handed back his own iPhone 4 instead.

Manager did not notice the switch for 2 hours and the phone sat on his desk - only noticed when he came to plug it in to charge.

Apple has kicked Google Maps to the curb with the iPhone 5 and is going with a new mapping program, and it's not looking too good so far. The new Maps App has already been in the spotlight for bad reviews and serious criticism. On top of that, Apple has also done away with YouTube as an embedded app. Both Google Maps and YouTube will be available in the App Store, but they've been removed as embeds in an effort to get you deeper and deeper into the Apple ecosystem.

All iPhone apps have to survive Apple's vetting process. And while Apple is a closed system, Android and Google run an open platform,  and it's one people find extremely appealing.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's most likely Europe. If they had switched S. America and Africa, the map would have been very accurate for a 5 year old.

No, I made a custom adblocker. Any shit like tweets and facebook comments are stripped out as well as ads. I forgot because they've been gone a while now.

I don't give a f*ck about the opinions of the great unwashed. It also removes like buttons, retweet buttons, +1 bollocks, all the major social networks including that shit on FES that John Davis added with the pop up social media crap.

All in all, its been a resounding success.

I don't use them. So I am doing my bit.

Except facebook. I do have facebook. But I can't see the adverts nor the wall commercials driven by friends (Tom just liked the new Apple 5 - I don't get that anymore) on it and have never given them a penny. I'm one of the millions that they fail to monetise. Their shareholders hate me. I'm just using bandwidth.
