Nice work, John.  Now if we could just get a link to the main FES site and/or the wiki.

I'm not sure if the automatically embedding youtube videos is a good thing.  A separate "[youtube]" tag might be a better idea, this way existing posts with inline links in paragraphs to youtube videos don't get translated to embedded videos, breaking up the paragraph.

For example:

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Duis a pretium libero. Donec at tortor nec purus imperdiet pulvinar. Maecenas dictum tristique felis at rhoncus. Aliquam erat volutpat. Nam laoreet nunc leo. Curabitur sem tortor, " class="bbc_link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> commodo sit amet suscipit at, semper sit amet enim. Nulla volutpat sagittis ullamcorper. Vivamus a nibh at dui vestibulum suscipit. Aliquam id mauris dui. Quisque dictum gravida euismod. In nunc ante, bibendum nec vestibulum nec, iaculis id est.

I can disable it within #" class="bbc_link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Thomas Dolby "The Flat Earth" sentences.  I'll see if I can require it to be alone on a line or add in the youtube bbc  code if otheres agree. #" class="bbc_link" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Thomas Dolby "The Flat Earth"

Either of those options is probably fine. The former might aid against inevitable noobs asking how to embed videos.

I use tinypic. It doesn't require you to create an account and stores pictures long enough for Saddam to necro them.

You don't need an account for imageshack (or imgur) either.  Imageshack is just often an unresponsive service.

I'm willing to add another image service if someone finds me an easy widget to throw in.  When I get time later on, I'd be willing to program my own using their api, but for now I think its more important to hit as many issues as possible while I have some time.

Yeah, the scaling is broken.  They are trying to resolve this.

Well, I've tried uploading a much smaller one (less than 125*125) and it still doesn't seem to work. I might have to wait for Pizza Planet to make me a new avatar!  :-[

That's odd.  I added security checks to uploaded images.  Perhaps its failing the checks.  I'll look into it as I have to upload my avatar when I get my old hd up.

Awesome stuff!
