The Conspiracy!!

I've heard you flat-earthers talking about a government conspiracy which is "brainwashing" us into thinking the Earth is round.

Can I ask the question,

WHY?

Why would the government want you to think the earth was a certain shape? Does it really matter what you think?

Do you realise how expensive it would be to enact a "brainwashing" on that scale? It would run into the billions of dollars? Do they really have a reason to do this?

I reckon this is a classic case of what I like to call religious, "I know you are but what am I?" syndrome (disclaimer: may not be real syndrome). i.e. scientists say creationism/ID is unscientific, creationists wait a few years then say evolution is unscientific (neglecting of course to have any thing you could describe as evidence).
So when Gallileo etc. kindly pointed out that the Bible was wrong on almost every point about the earth and got locked up for life the creationists obediently copy (just missing the evidence for it of course) then have a cry about how they're being oppressed by a facist (or whatever the word of the month is) society.
So in conclusion, why a government conspiracy, because they're the fucking government dude! They don't need a reason this is what they do! STOP OPPRESSING ME YOU CONFORMIST, FACIST FUCK!
