"Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"
I can't be the first person to come to these forums and ask if Flat-Earthers have heard of this saying.
However I've been reading a lot of threads- both pro FE and anti FE, and I just keep seeing Flat-Earthers dismissing any round earth science as part of a global conspiracy, and I have to ask about this.
If true, the scope of this alleged global conspiracy is utterly mind-boggling. Truly extraordinary. And therefore it requires extraordinary evidence.
I would very much like to see some of this extraordinary evidence of the conspiracy. Not proof of a flat-earth at the moment.
Proof not only of the conspiracy existing, but how it manages to falsify insane amounts of data and photos and experiments.
I've been looking some things up lately on google maps/google earth, and it uses literally tens of thousands of aerial photos from planes and from space, layers upon layers, all stitched together. Insane amounts of work just to collect them and stitch them together. To FAKE them all? And then to make sure no one ever flew a plane to the ice wall and got a real photo and put it on the internet (where I can post a picture of my freaking penis on a thousand web sites that wouldn't take it down)? That would be extraordinary.
Ever seen a space shuttle launch? The science and engineering and money involved is extraordinary. To do all that and spend the rocket up in the sky and...somehow fake that it went to the moon if it really didn't (then where did it go? people watch those things! someone would have seen where it went if not the moon) ... the scale of such a cover up would be extraordinary.
And this cover up must go back thousands of years too. The first mathematicians and astronomers who proved the earth was spherical must have been on the payroll.
So here's where you give me extraordinary amounts of proof please.
And if you feel inclined to insist that the scope of the conspiracy is proof in itself that such a conspiracy can be covered up (goes something like this: "you can't get proof of the conspiracy, because the conspiracy covers up the proof too"), then that is a self-fulfilling prophecy and can't really be discussed past that point. So don't bother saying that.
