I just did a taste comparison between these 2, and it does taste a lot like the original, but there's still that aftertaste of artificial sweetener in there. It might even be better than Coke 0 vs. Coke, but it almost ruins it for me. Still drinkable, but I don't have sodas often enough to want to go with an 'inferior' drink.

Anyone else tried it?

I only drink around 2 sodas per year.  And only when I have no other source of caffeine.  The thought of drinking that makes me feel sick.  Or, maybe it is the liquor that is making me feel sick.

Well I don't drink coffee. I have maybe 1 or 2 sodas per week, not really enough to significantly affect my weekly calorie count, so I'd rather have the real thing.

You Americans and your corn syrup. Out here in the real world, all our sodas are sweetened with sugar, except of course the artificially sweetened varieties and those imported from the USA.

The only soda I know of that you can get with actual sugar is throwback Mountain Dew.

I want to try and find a store nearby that sells Dublin Dr. Pepper. I'm in the same state after all.

EDIT: I've learned that the pure cane sugar variety is no longer bottled in Dublin, TX, though it is still sold there. Will try to find out if anyone in Houston still sells it.

Why are they poisonous?

Aspartame is one of the most studied sweeteners, and the only thing they've found is that it contributes to bladder cancer in rats. Rats aren't a good indicator for humans in this case, because their bladder system works differently. Also the only difference between HFCS and cane sugar, is that cane sugar is ~50% fructose, and HFCS is ~55% fructose, because it makes it sweeter, so you can use less to get the same sweetness.
