« on: April 09, 2012, 03:57:41 PM »
Does anybody know the difference between a theroy and a law. Please post your anwers below, and if you are wondering I do know I am just wondering if anybody elese knows and to teach others so they can be more effective in debates.
I dont care what you think as long as it's about me.

If you would actually read my post you would see that I know the difference between the two. I was trying to see if others knew, or if they did not they would now know the difference and be better at debates.

For the most part, people here don't really worry about the rigorous, scientific distinctions between theory, law and hypothesis.  For the sake of the discussions here, it's not really that important.

Although it is kind of nice when people know what they are talking about. I.E Gravity is not a law, even for REer's it is a theroy.

Its all well and good that knowing this has apparently given you a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Now, are you actually going to, you know, discuss a flat earth?

Though, sometimes it should be...
Too many times FET "theory" is compared to scientific theories, gravity being one such.
God bless the Enclave.
