Interview with Totally Dublin!
« on: March 28, 2012, 01:07:51 PM »
I recently did an interview with a local publication called Totally Dublin, which is a free magazine about local culture and events. It's distributed across Dublin and is also available online, where you can read the interview (starting on page 28):

http://issuu.com/totallydublin/docs/td91

The interview was much more casual than you might think reading the article (i.e. it's not a word for word transcription), but I saw the final draft before it was published and thought it was accurate and fair - it really gets across the different ideas and perspectives that the society has to offer. Basically, I'm very pleased!

Very professional.  Perhaps we should consider adding links to articles like this and other audio interviews that have been conducted to the FAQ.  I think that newcomers would benefit from seeing a professional view of The Flat Earth Society before delving into the Q&A aspects of the FAQ.

I've just realised that it's the main feature of this issue as well, and listed first in the table of contents, which is pretty cool.

Unfortunately at the end of the article they point people to flatearthsociety.org and not theflatearthsociety.org.

Damn, that is annoying. Oh well, at least the Twitter link is accurate.

I just looked into buying flatearthsociety.org. They won't accept bids under 60 USD.

I really enjoyed that. I did chuckle at the end. "The main focus of the Society's activities are the forums with over 30,000 users". This is just a wee bit economical with the truth as 25,000 of those will be spambot accounts and 4500 of those will have been dormant for some time - some for years.

Also I rolled my eyes when he asked "But what about all the pictures from space?". What a noob lol!

But its nice publicity. Also the turtle picture on the last page? Who the hell does their photo editing? That was awful.

Good. It will be expensive if someone fancies setting up a parody site. Also theflatearthsociety.com - the squatter there wants several thousand dollars so that's safe too. Squatters should be exponged. No one will ever pay thousands of dollars for that site. It just means no one else can use it. Seems kinda stupid to me. Pop squatters on the same fire as spammers.

Some universities and businesses buy up .xxx domains to avoid porn parodies and such.

Also, is this the first active publicity since Daniel's interview?

Really enjoyed reading it!

I hope some TU producer does a documentary on The Flat Earth Society someday soon. I think that"s a great idea for a teleuision program.

Daniel has several interviews as well.

Why is it so hard to believe some people believe something you think is impossible to believe?

I have covered this extensively, as have others. Do a search. If you don't understand why I have my viewpoint, then you haven't been reading the upper forums.
