I guess this seems like as good a place as any to ask these kinds of questions...

I have heard about the flat earthers before but really just thought of it as another one of those conspiracy theory groups, but then today I came across some information that sparked my interest. I heard some one taking a deeper explanation of the mind set of people who believe the earth is flat and it seems all that crazy to me. I truely mean no disrespect and am really just curious. So if any one would be kind enough to expalin/answer a couple questions for me i would really appreciate it.

 1. Is the belief in the earth being flat and the conspiracy behind the cover up of it all that society believes? (i wondering if there is a more spiritual concept to this belief?)

 2. I came across some information stating that there are principals to this belief, if so, what are they?

*i am using the word "belief" only because I lack a better word for conveying my message.

Hello out there? I'm just new to the FE theory, about a week ago started really checking into it, reading and watching all I could find. I'm a long time otherwise veteran conspiracy theorist about other stuff. I'm not convinced of FE, but have definitely got one foot planted over the fence, and the other safely resting in global. haha I'm hoping to get to know the finer details to gain confidence. I would have totally laughed at FE a week ago. Anybody?
