There is no job in the world in the world that needs a process this long and convoluted to select the best candidate.

There is also the possibility he is making it all up.

Or, perhaps, Thork is a whiny and stupid penguin that is incapable of understanding the process and exaggerates and misunderstands the situation he has somehow bumbled his way into. Because he's dumb.

Oh there is.  Its just usually CEO level crap.

No, it still shouldn't take more than a few weeks to select a new CEO, and it usually doesn't.

I'm not going for a job as a CEO, but anyway, its taking forever.  :(

Starting to think I was unsuccessful. I really wanted that job too.

Nah, I have done 2 telephone interviews and seperately been rung up to discuss terms and conditions. They know my number.

One positive is that I asked for a travel allowance. They then re-issued the job spec including a travel allowance. I guess all candidates must have asked for various things but it was the one I asked for that was granted. Not a signing on bonus or relocation fee or any other changes.

I also said I'd have to cancel current plans to make the final stage so would like prior info. They said they'd just move the last stage to next week to accommodate me and make all the other candidates go early.

Finally I thought I did a pretty good job on interview day. I am a good fit for this job.

I left feeling pretty good about it but the fact they said they would get back to me early on Friday and they didn't has shaken my confidence a bit. Now I'm erring on the side of they didn't get back because I don't need to make any plans.

I mostly just want to be put out of my misery now. I've been waiting 2 months to conclude this. I either want this super-awesome job or I want to be able to forget all about it and move on. This limbo is crappy.

What exactly is this job you're applying for, anyway?  Look, you don't need to give us the name of the company or anything, but a description of the job itself might help us understand why they're treating what should be a simple hiring process as if it's some kind of elimination-based reality show.

Oh, I forgot, there is also an annual bonus of 15% of the salary.

Handy for Christmas.

I just don't think the universe wants to make it that easy for me. My life doesn't tend to work like that. Karma hates me.

That job looks like it's highly dependent on performance. If you don't sell you get fired.

That's not a job I would want.

Nope. The salesmen sell. I just provide information to help them. Its not a commission job like the sales jobs.
