I just want to know what's up with all the ridiculous filters on all his pictures. This isn't Instagram, there's no need to try and take the most generic tween pictures you can.

It's my house, I will do as I want.

That's all well and good, but please don't subject the rest of us to it. I haven't ignored your posts yet for the hilarity factor, but even that's getting old.
I'm going to side with the white supremacists.

And I just don't have the willpower to do it cold turkey.  I know enough about myself to understand that.  I figure that with the gum at least I'm cutting out the damage it was doing to my lungs, which right now is what I'm particularly concerned about.

But God... I want a cigarette.  :(
I remember when I was a young lad, my father caught me smoking a cigarette. As punishment he made me smoke the entire pack. I wish he'd caught me fucking that girl-guide. :(

BOINK!

I turned around to see a smear on my window. Has some little git thrown an apple at it? As I got nearer I saw a tiny feather in the smear. Looked like a bird had flown into the window. I looked below the window but saw nothing. Re-examining the smear it 'smeared' to the left quite a bit. Sure enough about 5 yards to the left of my window a juvenile starling lay motionless.

I went to the kitchen to get a dustpan and brush but when I got to the spot, the bird was gone. Like 20 secs later. I happened to notice feathers falling from a nearby apple tree in the garden. Something had stolen my dead starling. Turns out it is one of those red kites. Its still busy ripping into that little dead bird as I type.

So, whilst I felt a bit bad that a young bird died slamming into my window, it made dinner for something else so it wasn't wasted.

Damn, I overestimated how much running/jogging I could handle, got in just barely over half of what I'd planned. I knew I was out of shape, but that out of shape? Really? Jeez.

Even though it's freezing out, I really want to start getting into shape again. I'm not overweight or anything (which has been hard to come to grips with, my mind is always telling me to lose more and more weight), but I'm definitely not in shape. I need to figure out some kind of regimen to keep up, but I'm no fitness expert.

I wouldn't ask this forum for fitness advice.  Any discussion on the subject always devolves into either Thork shouting about steroids or certain members waving their dicks around.

Keep at it. Even if it seems like baby steps, you'll be making huge strides (har har) before you know it by running.
Don't go crazy and progress in manageable steps.
I saw a slight haze in the hotel bathroom this morning after I took a shower, have I discovered a new planet?

It's too cold for A&A and me to run outside, it really burns the throat/lungs. I suspect we'll start playing more tennis though. Along with yoga I do some calisthenics. You can start by doing push-ups for a min, rest for a min, planks for a min, rest for a min, squats for a min, rest for a min, and then burpies for a min. Then you just keep lengthening the work out time and shortening the rest time. You can do different excersises just as long as you focus on arms, abs, legs, and then the whole body (burpies are a bitch).  That's how I stay fit without getting bulky.
No steroids, no dick waving.

Too cold to run?  Nonsense!  Wear a scarf over your mouth.  It'll get wet from your breath condensing, but it'll keep the cold air from piercing through your lungs.  Cold weather is great for running, you don't really even need to bundle up because your body heats up with all the activity.  Don't go too far from warm shelter though.

Also if it's REALLY cold, don't go straight inside.  Let yourself cool down for a minute so you don't get temperature shock.

I need to get running again myself.  I know I've been saying this, but I've got ulterior motives now.  Also going to start practicing parkour a bit.  Won't be doing flips and shit, but I'm going to learn to navigate unusual terrain.  Also for said ulterior motives.

I guess we could try that. Do you tie the scarf to keep it from falling off? Do you look like a crazy ninja?

I'm going to be a superhero, actually.

Yeah, you wear the scarf sort of ninja style.  Or Muslim style if you want to go the full headwrap way.  You could probably use a bandana if you have one.

I won't be doing much chasing.  Probably the latter, though I'll have some defensive items just in case.

Until I can get pepper spray, I'll have small canisters of a blend of pepper, salt, and cayenne.  Also looking into homemade smoke bombs.  My primary defense is running away.  I'm not actually a superhuman, I can bleed and die just like anyone else.  I just want to do more to keep my community safe.  Most nights will comprise of making notes on a pad of paper, and making calls to the police if anything suspicious happens.  Worst case scenario is that I see a crime in progress and am spotted.  I'll wear a mask and as noted I'm going to train in parkour in order to make quick getaways (augmented by smoke bombs so potential aggressors won't see which way I go), so hopefully my anonymity and evasive maneuvers will keep me safe.
