Just dropped about 2 grand on surgery for my cat. He has a urinary problem where his pee hole gets blocked.
You could have bought a hundred cats for 2 grand. Imagine that. 100 of them, all with perfectly good pee holes.
Also pet insurance.
When you get an animal, you take responsibility for their health, in his case, he is young, the condition is treatable, and though he may have problems with bladder infections, he has a good chance at a long life. I just wouldn't feel right putting him down for something like that, I've grown very attached to him.
After he got sick the first time, I got pet insurance for both my cats, though he has a pre existing condition, so they won't cover anything having to do with his urinary tract. I knew this when I bought the insurance.
