Let's talk about Space Legos
« on: March 03, 2012, 08:39:02 PM »
Has anyone ever tried launching cameras and their companions into space? I found an interesting video where a pair of students send a lego gentleman into the outer atmosphere via weather balloon and wonder what you think on the validity of the footage their cameras took (concept-wise).

I'm not saying this video supports evidence of either concept since the camera seems to encounter difficulties with a space wizard's magic, but would this actually be a possible experiment in FET since the FAQ claims satellites don't exist.

Also the OP's signature quote is just made up. I never wrote that.

Of the millions of posts on this site I couldn't find a single one I liked so I made one up.
Cheap.

Hey, is there around no volunteer bilionair prepared to offer a seat in a Soyouz flight to Sam Bishop or Thork, or Lord Gilmore or any other FE zelots ? They would make a lifetime experience about orbiting around our good old Earth sphere and would after relanding have new free time made available to find a new government plot to debate about ? :D

Would you like me to post the erotic fiction I wrote about our adventures on an isolated island? I'll even list you as the co-author and we can sell it on amazon. That and you have absolutely no dominion over me, deal with it.

Sexy time aside, you do raise a point, but in all honesty I opted to just raise discussion regarding the video. When it comes to the slanted FET version of Zetiticism you can't win, because like humanity it throws logic and evidence to the floor with blind accusations of conspiracies and blatant denial regarding the existence of counterevidence.

why must you yanks use the plural "legos" for lego? the plural of lego is "lego". if you wish to refer to more than one lego brick, please use the term "lego bricks". and FYI, the "lego men" you speak of are correctly referred to as "minifigs".

I'm sorry, but... Why is this relevant?
In any case; words are always evolving.
Legos can be the plural if people choose it to be.
Lego men is also an acceptable term for minifigs, as that is just what the company has chosen to name them.
If people want to say lego men, they can.

Oh, and please use proper capitalization when you post.
God bless the Enclave.

I have a camera on my War Blimp that takes pictures of the disc. They're all classified though. Only top War Blimp personnel are allowed to view them.

Words are evolving.
Capitalization is, was, and will be used at the start of a sentence or for names, locations, important events, ect.

Anywho; you were first to engage in said "rodeo".
Your comment was unnecessary and irrelevant.

Anywho; to answer your question; probably not, but you can try if you like.

All that experiment shows is a disc, if anything, this is just more evidence for FET.

in English, maybe; not always in other languages, not including those with no concept of upper and lower case. this of course is irrelevant, but nobody can say that in 1000 years time, our distant descendants will be debating the existance of a flat earth using wOrdS tHAT loOk LikE ThiS. personally, i relish the thought.

It doesn't show a disc. It shows a round earth. If we're seeing the edge of a "disc", then why don't we see any type of ice wall or ice barrier holding the oceans in? Why does the edge of the disc seem to slice across continents? You're beginning to sound like iwanttobelieve.

The shape of the horizon changes shape depending on where it is positioned on screen. Clearly taken through a wide-angle or fish-eye lens.
That's your excuse every time. Though I believe Clockwork attempted to explain it to you once or twice.
Anywho; assuming you are right; it isn't too expensive to do this: Why don't you raise the money to, and make sure not to put one on?

Watch the horizon throughout the video. Towards the bottom of the screen it is flat and towards the top of the screen it is convex.
