help with images and equations
« on: March 07, 2012, 04:33:26 AM »
I'd be grateful if somebody could point me towards an explanation of how I can include images and equations in my posts.

Thank you in advance,

Mathy.

Images. Use the image tags.

After uploading it somewhere - I use tinypic, copy the code they give you.

Like this
Code: [Select]
[img]http://www.housecatscentral.com/cat1.jpg[/img]
Will give

If you want to size it, use the height or width command
Code: [Select]
[img height=200]http://www.housecatscentral.com/cat1.jpg[/img]
to give

As for equations, there is no facility at this time despite promises of a software upgrade of this nature for some time now. All you can do is use the sup and sub tags to create superscript and subscript text.

Example.

g=9.81m/s2

Or v1=v2+v3

For additional help, google 'bb code' and look at sites like http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=57.0

Now, can you do something for us? Please make an effort to post in the appropriate forum. This is obviously a place to talk about earth's shape. Not how to use a computer.

Moved.
