But of course informally speaking, it is.

How you speak isn't relevant. I made the claim:

Maastricht is not in Holland.

Then you decided to challenge me. We are discussing the validity of my claim, nothing more, nothing less.
I'm going to side with the white supremacists.

But I wasn't talking to you, when I claimed Maastricht is in Holland. I was just minding my own business speaking informally on an informal internet forum.

Irrelevant. That post isn't what we're discussing. Remember, you challenged my claim that Maastricht is not in Holland. I never claimed you were wrong, only that Maastricht is not in Holland. Why is this so difficult for you to understand?

I have put this through google translate twice, but it hasn't returned anything intelligible. However, as it is most likely an apology, I shall graciously accept it.

I didn't didn't say HCl is a gas at room temperature because it's trivial.  I shouldn't have had too. That is why I didn't. I guess I should have pointed this out first. Especially in the context of where I originally said that. I don't have to say "look at the solid, at room, temperature steal I beam."
This all came out of you trying to act smart. And I think you were orignally going of wrong information but you cough yourself so you have to change the question.
I'm going to side with the white supremacists.

Calling all of the Netherlands 'Holland' is as wrong as calling all of the United Kingdom 'England'

Tell a man from Glasgow or Aberdeen he lives in England. I dare you.

Proving your analogy to be false. The Dutch don't mind people saying they live in Holland. They are just delighted not to be part of Germany.

While this is just anecdotal evidence and thus invalid and irrelevant, a Dutch friend of mine always says he's from Holland, even though he isn't.

Incorrect. I've known Dutch people who are very uptight about The Netherlands being referred to as "Holland".

Are the Dutch people you know actually from Holland, though? Apparently the ones who get upset about it are the ones who don't live in Holland, just like you're more likely to offend a Scotsman than an Englishman by referring to the UK as "England".

Why would you need that? The Scottish are nationalistic, not violent. Well, unless you tell him in a pub. The gun won't help you there, unless you can use it as a shield against the broken beer glasses hurled at you from every corner at the same time.

Wat? Its a well known fact that the Scottish are violent. Just like that they all have ginger hair and wear skirts.

No it isn't. It's a well known fact that all of that is just hearsay and urban myths. Except for the part about the pubs, because that's all true. You Brits get stabby when you're drunk.

She made it sound like I was going to need it.  But if all they can do is throw a beer bottle then I'll just kick their asses.
