That's some good Scotch right there!

How much would you be willing to pay for a good single malt? Take your time and think about it.

Nope not even close, http://www.refinedvices.com/the-dalmore-trinitas-64, £100 000 for a bottle.

The twelve year old malt is to die for, and that's £40 a pop, so I can only imagine what the 64 year old would be like.

With only 3 bottles ever produced, would you actually open it to find out?

Holy shit, it's your avatar.

It represents a quality product. Nuff said.

With only 3 bottles ever produced, would you actually open it to find out?

If I got my hands on a bottle I would.

It would be an insult to the skill of the master blender not to sample his talent.

In my, humble, opinion it's comparable to all those sad adults who collect toys. They must be pristine condition, never out of the box, limited edition so they can be traded as an investment. It reduces them to a simple commodity which exists only to be traded for a greater value than that which was paid originally.

It misses the point of their existence which is to provide a pleasurable experience for those investing in the product in the first place.

Besides whiskey is not like fine wine in that it does not mature out of the cask. When it's bottled that's it. You either sample it now or it degrades. If I'm paying that kind of money for a single bottle I'm sure as hell going to see what all the fuss is about.

A few tallboys and a bunch of vodka had me right split.  I'm 22.  I ended up in a graveyard for two hours with a fine 29 yr old mother of two.  I'm uncertain whether to be proud because of her looks or ashamed because she's 29 and has two kids (and that it was in a graveyard).

If she's attractive, who cares? 29 is not that old. The graveyard is a bit dodge, but goes with your avy.

Tonight I had some delicious portuguese wine, followed by some chilled pink port. Off-topic, I then smoked a pipe, and now I'm washing it down with a wholly antithetical can of cheap Prazsky.

Some sort of white wine. It's pretty good but between a group of 4 we are on to the 3rd bottle by now.

Bugger.

Scottish Parliament passed a controversial law limiting the minimum price of alcohol to 50p per unit.

It's Summertime, Sun rises at about 3.30 am, and I can't go for a blast along a deserted highland road cos I've had a shandy with my lunch sometime in the past 24 hours.

What a crock of shit.

Yeah, we can't have more than 0.05% blood alcohol level here either. I'm a pretty big guy, so I can have at least one drink and still be okay, but small women can't even have half a glass of wine with dinner without being in trouble. It's had a huge toll on alcohol sales at restaurants. The rest of the country is 0.08.

It's about time they reined you Scots in.

It's a flawed concept.

If it genuinely contributed to the decrease of alcohol abuse I'd be all for it. But it wont.

Abusers of any substance will always find a way to feed their addiction. Be it through crime or depriving themselves of more common basic needs, such as food and clothing, for themselves and their family members.

With this legislation I can guarantee an increase in petty crime in order to feed that adiction. Be it shoplifting, housebreaking, street robbery or just hitting the local off licence.

It's not just Scotland that's getting shafted here. This is just fitting in with European legislation so sooner or later England will follow.

The important point is that the majority is made to suffer for the failings of the unwashed, drunken, illiterate and uneducated minority.

If I drink to excess, which I do frequently, I have bought a little device which tells me when I am safe to be on the road. That's legaly safe and I always give it a couple of hours after that just to make sure.

I can only look forward to this legislation being passed and the traffic plod harrasing my ass to death on roads that I used to play on in the early hours of a summers morning just to make up the numbers.
Hang on, I'll just check my personal care factor for this week : nope still don't give a fuck
