I drink quite a lot of vodka--straight from the bottle (just don't let the aftertaste of that gasoline get ye').  Some weeks the 40 is dry by Wednesday and I feel a bit like an alcoholic.  Then again, I haven't drank in two weeks which is also a common occurrence as I'm too lazy to keep up on the supply.  Either way, yup, vodka.

A tip to removing the aftertaste: put a chilli pepper in the bottle. It makes the vodka quite a bit more drinkable, mainly because your tastebuds just give up on the world.

Or you could drink something else which is actually drinkable.

I was thinking this was good advice up until the "...mainly because your tastebuds just give up on the world" part.  I'll just stick to never inhaling through mouth after swigs.

Or you could drink something else which is actually drinkable.

Well, I could.  Or I could just stick to vodka.

As opposed to all the varieties of liqueur that avoid being sweet despite having added sugar, you mean?

Ah well, I don't know really. I haven't actually tried that many types of liqueur, but those I've tried tasted sweet and nasty.
I have some coffee liqueur here that I use to make white russians. I haven't tasted it directly from the bottle, but I imagine it tastes sweet and I probably won't like it.

You don't need to ice Krupnik.  It tastes just fine neat.

I used to like Southern Comfort, which is a peach liqueur, but now I do not like any liqueurs.  I can't stand having any sweet alcohol.  However, the honey liqueur comment made me remember that I have not made mead in quite a while.  I think I'll make a batch of mead this weekend.  It should be ready in about 4 to 6 weeks.

www.drinkify.org has recommended that while I listen to Owl City I drink:

•1 bottle gin
•1 bottle Half and Half
•8 oz. Club soda

Combine in highball glass and serve. Garnish with wedge of orange.

Is this a good idea?

I don't think that amount of liquid is going to fit all in 1 glass.

I am going to go and buy a single malt Scotch whisky later today. So far, I have only tried The Glenlivet in the way of single malts. Suggestions?

This, you mean? Looks like a reasonable selection, although it appears to be a blended malt and not a single malt.

That whisky I linked is the only Glenmorangie available at that particular shop. Going further to buy something else today isn't an option, as I don't have a car and don't give a shit enough to catch a bus just to buy some alcohol.

I spoke with a couple of guys at the liquor store, and went with their recommendation of the Macallan. Let's see how this goes down.
