Ah. then IMO you aren't going to do much better than a good whiskey or bourbon.

I suggest trying Bookers Bourbon or Blantons Single barrel Bourbon.

I don't know, a good liqueur goes down well also.

I think we had this conversation once a long time ago on IRC. You ever try Sprite and Pucker? (any pucker) I recall you saying something about a rootbeer pucker maybe? Baileys and coffee is a nice drink also.

Personally, im in love witha ny drink with a banana in it. Banana-colada and banana daiquiris are the shit.

Beer or Wine Enemas
Beer or wine can be used, you will want them to be warm. Surprisingly you will get quite drunk. Possibly you will be dangerously drunk so you should be careful. It is a good idea to mix wine at half-strength the first time you use alcohol in an enema.

Alcohol is absorbed much more quickly in the intestines than in the stomach, so you need to be really careful.

Using hard alcohol is NOT A GOOD IDEA. You can die from this.

It might be worth a mention that mixing drugs (alcohol in this case) and strange medical procedures can be a bad idea.
My I.Q. is 85. Or was it 58?

Okay, so I bought a bottle of port. 'Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage,' from 2003. I have a friend coming over to watch Walking Dead and I thought it'd be a good time to try one. I just bought a small 375ml bottle, to try it out. I'll report back tomorrow.

Try mixing it with some Ginger beer ( 1 shot Absinthe, 1/2 shot lime juice and top with ginger beer - that's a Bohemian Mule!)

I don't have any ginger beer right now, but I imagine they would go well together. I'll try it at some point, thanks.

Hope the port is nice Enigma

Do you guys get the real absinthe in Australia, or does your government require there to be no wormwood in it either?

Good question. The "Green Fairy Absinth" I have says on the back, "Absinth made from wormwood and containing thujone has never been banned in Czech republic. Green Fairy is made...in Prostejov." The product is bottled there and imported to Australia. So I don't know if this really answers the question; it supposedly has thujones, which is the mind altering substance, though I've never experienced anything like that. Perhaps I need to drink more than 1 drink at a sitting?

I am pretty sure it is legal here in Australia and a quick google reveals there are Absinthe distilleries that use wormwood here in Australia.

Perhaps you did feel the effects, it's just that the claimed effects are exaggerated because that's how drug information is presented.

Please don't be so incredibly naive. Everything is poisonous. Literally everything. You can overdose on O2. It's just a matter of how much you take. A glass of wine every once in a while will do exactly nothing to you.

I am not trying to be naive. I am merely trying to illustrate my point that I do not believe in consuming alcohol. A glass of wine produces several immediate effects, included clouded judgement, poor memory, and loss of motor skills. As I have stated above, I do agree that there are potential benefits.

The whole point of drinking alcohol is to have clouded judgement, poor memory and loss of motor skills. If beer didn't do that, I'd drink water.

Bravo for sticking to your convinctions. More often than not, alcohol is the vice of men. I myself do not drink but love life without any dependence on drink for recreation.

Alcohol. Oh dear. I loue it (i"m half Irish!)

English bitter is the best. Guinness is louely. German wheat beers are delicious. Kokanee is the best Canadian beer i"ue drank. I loue champagne. Uodka with fresh orange juice, and sometimes whiskey (straight, with a little bit of water).

Guinness is okay, but to be honest there are much better Irish porters and stouts to be had, such as the following. The Dungarven Brewing Company's Blackrock Stout, the Porterhouse brewing company's various porters and stouts, and my current favourite, Trouble Brewing's Dark Arts Porter:

Amaretto sours were my first love. is it really that hard to get it "over there"? We have it at every liquor store around.

Yeah, it's less common here. You can get it, but it definitely isn't sold everywhere. Probably because there are fewer Italians here - I often see it on the menu at Italian restaurants.

The effects of alcohol on a person vary greatly depending on many factors including one's tolerance for alcohol, body weight, rate and volume of consumption, stomach fullness, liver function, and so on.  However, for most people, the effects that you describe would require more than just a single glass of wine (unless it's a rather large glass of fortified wine consumed very quickly on an empty stomach).
