Is MLK's dream reality?
« on: January 16, 2012, 04:46:03 PM »
Little black boy: "I think Martin Luther King, Jr. would say, if he were alive today, his dream has come true."

I would have to respectfully disagree, I think he'd be disgusted how some black leaders like Al Sharpton play the race card whenever they dang well please to demonize their opponents, even when race is not involved. I don't think his dream is reality yet, it's close, but no cigar.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day all!

I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

You find the real racism, and I'll confess to it.

So you're just googling old Al Sharpton for no reason? Why don't you fill us all in on how he's playing the race card.
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

Meh.
Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't.  I sure as hell don't know.  All I can say is that racism still exists but it's diminishing fast.

I agree, to an extent. Can't say anything about Al Sharpton, since I don't even know who he is, but a large amount of racial issues are initiated by pulling the race card and that is obviously not what MLK had in mind.

There's pretty much zero racism where I live, so I don't know what you're smoking. I'd say it's pretty real, in California at least.

Most people are racist, but not in an evil way.

Martin Luther King only helped black people, for example. He didn't really care about any other ethnic groups.

Well no shit. He was only guy, so he couldn't do everything for everyone. Also, he was black so he had specific expertise in dealing with issues in the black community.

I can see if he was kind of apathetic towards other races. Blacks were getting their worlds rocked in the 50s and 60s.

I am totally surprised to learn that Christianrocker90 is a sordid little bigot.

I still have yet to see anyone prove that my opinion that MLK's dream hasn't come true yet is bigotry.

MLK's dream is not a reality.

Back in the day, black people were viewed as helpless self destructive idiots, and that led to a sense of disgust towards blacks.

Today, blacks are viewed as helpless self destructive idiots, and its led to an overall sense of pity and guilt among whites.

Since the latter benefits blacks via white guilt, affirmative action, etc., they choose to stick with it so that they can't be held accountable for their individual actions, which is the opposite of what MLK wanted

Unfortunately, that makes sense.
