What happened to the blackout in protest of SOPA? All I saw was an error message...

It was on the home page, not the forum index page.

If Daniel wanted to express his dislike for censorship there are better ways of going about it than censoring discussion on this site. How stupid is that?

What next, is Daniel going to abort some babies to protest an abortion bill?

I'm very sorry that there was a 24-hour period where you couldn't access the website that you endlessly complain about.

To be fair, he only endlessly complains about you.

Wikipedia is not the only source of information on the internet, by the way. "Oh look, SOPA is bad. Free information being gone forever would suck" *proceed to second Google result*
Wikipedia was perfectly accessible to everyone.

Yes, I know you realized that they did a shitty job "blacking out". Congratulations. However, it seems most did not.

Most people who might actually need Wikipedia did. TV stations' reporters did not. Looks like a win-win to me.

Wtf is with all these brick analogies?

You people suck at analogies.
A correct analogy is closing the library for a day with a big sign over the door.

Or, in the case of tFES, closing your favorite hangout for a day with a big sign on the front door, but no sign on the side door that all the regulars use.

The regulars didn't need to read the sign. So the forums shouldn't have been down.

The regulars didn't need to read the sign. So the forums shouldn't have been down because they already knew that the forums would be down.

Fixed.  Even if they didn't support the action, they knew that it was coming.

Are you sure you know what an analogy is?

No.  The correct analogy is having a web site go on strike to express a dislike of censorship.

These don't seem to be analogies at all.

I suggest you guys stop trying to come up with an analogy, unless either of you is planning to stop failing at it miserably anytime soon.

It's like a whirlwind inside of my head
It's like I can't stop what I'm hearing within
It's like the face inside is right beneath my skin

Iím impressed, I must say. Really seldom do I see a forum thatís both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, youíve hit the nail on the head. Your thoughts is important; the issue is something that not a lot of people are talking intelligently about. Iím really happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
