What do you guys think of him?

Personally, I don't agree with his views on abortion or gay marriage or the separation of church and state. However, I think his views on non-interference would help the country in the long run.

What are your thoughts?

I want to like him except for those issues you just mentioned. I'm really not sure what to think. He seems the most sane of the Republicans, but I think I'd rather have Obama another four years over him...and there's not a chance in any reality that I'm going to vote for any of the other Republicans. Not to mention that Ron Paul seems to be a crazy racist conspiracy-seeing loon at times.

So yeah. Not really sure what to make of him.

Better than Gingrich, worse than Huntsman. Obama's going to be a lesser-of-two-evils winner in 2012.
No but I'm guess your what? 90? Cause you just so darn mature </sarcasm>

Ron Paul believes abortion and gay marriage should be for the states to decide, the whole limited government shindig. He understands American foreign policy the most and I admire him because he's the only repub whos not a complete tool.

Wrong. He is a tool just like the rest of them. The different candidates speak different things, but nothing really "changes". Paul is in the conspiracy, even though he might sound good when he speaks.

I like Ron Paul, but I don't want him to be the president, because of the wacko. I do want him to remain in the race until the end so people can hear what he has to say. This is my favorite campaign commercial

Wait, he's a Republican. Isn't he all about war?

And exactly how did Obama change his mind?  American Troops are out of Iraq.
And he tried very very hard to get guantanamo bay closed but for some reason no one in America wanted them in their jails.

This is what I hate about these kinds of Politics.  You can make promises all you want but at the end of the day, you probably can't keep them because of someone else.

Ron Paul is the only candidate saying the truth. He's also the only candidate that's been consistent in his views for over 30 years, who else can say that? He wants to restore our republic to the state it was in when it was founded in the way the founding fathers wanted it. He's going to end our overly-aggressive foreign intervention policy and stamp out the fascism that is slowly creeping in through the illegalization of abortion and other religion-based laws.

Right now, Ron Paul is the only candidate that can restore America, all the rest are career politicians that are only in it for themselves.

Oh God, here we go.

Plenty of people can, actually.  We call them zealots.

Quote
He wants to restore our republic to the state it was in when it was founded in the way the founding fathers wanted it.

Disregarding the fact that your last point is obviously speculation, you are correct insofar as that is what Paul wants.  It would be interesting to see how many of Paul's fanboys actually know this about him.  Also, I'm not sure how Paul would even be able to do that as president.

Quote
He's going to end our overly-aggressive foreign intervention policy

Fair enough, he has said that.  It's also pretty much the only issue that most of his fanboys actually know his position on.  You, of course, are one of the exceptions.

Yes, the others are career politicians.  They are not to be trusted.  It is only Ron Paul, the man who has spent thirty years in Congress, who can save our nation now.  Truly, he is our Jesus.

Not too many politicians can, including the ones running against him and the ones currently in office.

It's not really speculation when you realize that he roots his idea of government firmly in the Constitution which is the definition of liberty as defined by the founders. Paul has said this many times publicly, I'm not sure why you would consider it speculation.

Of course he couldn't do it all by himself, I never said he could, but he could set the gears in motion to get the process moving. Look at everything Obama and Dubya did with signing statements. He could definitely do a lot. You should listen to him more and see how he's going to eliminate five cabinet departments, shut down the TSA, end foreign wars, and lower the President's salary from its current $400,000 to $39,336 which will result in about $1 trillion in savings during his first year in office alone. The budget will be balanced within three years from then.

What? You agree with me that he did say that he wants to end US interventionism and then claim that I don't know his position. Your tactics are confusing ???

Well, that was obnoxious. Do you see any better options? Are you gonna vote for the guy who created the prototype for Obamacare, Romney, or Newt "I took millions from Solyndra, too" Gingrich? What about Rick Perry? He changes his stance more than anyone on the issues. Or are you going to vote for Obama and give him a second term to further help bankrupt this country, all the while taking 17 day vacations and living the high life on the taxpayer's dime?

Personally, I think he is the best of the Republican candidates, and will be changing my party affiliation to vote for him in the primaries. I think that a debate between him and Obama would be the most interesting and beneficial for the country, and I would hate for any of the other Republicans to get the nomination.

I won't necessarily vote for him in the general election, but I definitely hate him the least of all the republican candidates.

He'd be a disaster. There's no way the republican house would let him massively cut back on the military or start lopping away at major arms of government but they'd happily support his homophobic anti-choice views.

Actually that gave me multiple reasons I would want to vote for him. A few ideas are a bit extreme (Largely things he could not do on his own) but others I quite like.

Also, Ron Paul is most definitely the best of the Republicants. He's probably the most electable, some of the candidates are just ridiculous.

Not too many politicians can, including the ones running against him and the ones currently in office.

Which I'm glad of.  We need people with open minds and the ability to admit mistakes in office, not pigheaded fundamentalists who will stubbornly cling to every preconception regardless of what happens.

Quote
It's not really speculation when you realize that he roots his idea of government firmly in the Constitution which is the definition of liberty as defined by the founders. Paul has said this many times publicly, I'm not sure why you would consider it speculation.

What is speculation is your claim that Paul's vision is what the Founders would want.  You don't know that.

Quote
Of course he couldn't do it all by himself, I never said he could, but he could set the gears in motion to get the process moving. Look at everything Obama and Dubya did with signing statements. The budget will be balanced within three years from then.

Well, obviously if you rip the guts out of the federal government, there won't be any deficit.  There won't be anything to pay for.  Again, I wonder how many of the fanboys actually know this about their hero.

Quote
What? You agree with me that he did say that he wants to end US interventionism and then claim that I don't know his position. Your tactics are confusing ???

I meant that you were an exception to the fanboys who only know about his foreign policy.

Quote
Because you know I'm right.

No, because it's ridiculous.  Paul throws the Constitution out the window when it comes to separation of church and state.  On this issue, he is one of the most extreme politicians out there.

Quote
Or are you going to vote for Obama and give him a second term to further help bankrupt this country, all the while taking 17 day vacations and living the high life on the taxpayer's dime?

This complaint is clearly grounded in reality, and truly merits a serious response. ::)

You really haven't been paying much attention to current affairs the amount of tax dollars this president has spent on himself and his family, have you?
And how do you propose he travels?  The secret service won't allow him to go anywhere without massive escorts, heavily armored vehicles, and the fuel guzzling airforce 1.

If you became president, you'd be forced to do the same thing any time you wished to travel anywhere.
