So clocktower posts a picture showing a small amount of the horizon as proof earth is round. When I show the entire view, now anyone with half a brain should realise that earth will look flat at any altitude?

I think you need an RE huddle to decide what exactly you all think because now you all look silly ... and wrong.

I think that you know very well that a 360 degree view of the horizon will, by its very nature, appear flat.

Of course. So why would a slice of about 50 degrees look round?

As flat as flat can be. Enjoy, its pretty.

The train left the station without you.

The point is the horizon does not rise to eye level as FET requires. FET is wrong, again.

Oh, and I posted the entire panorama long ago, but thanks for spending time on another worthless endeavor.

Because of the way the photographs are recorded, 50 degree stationary view can look significantly different from a 50 degree pan view.  When the panoramic camera pans across 360 degrees, it's constantly looking at a very narrow vertical slice of the top of the curve.  When you have a stationary wide-angle shot, you are viewing (and compressing) much more of the curvature.  Although I might argue that a 50 degree shot would not be sufficient to show much curvature unless it was taken from a fairly high altitude.

The train left the station without you.

And you, let's take it easy with the rude comments.  If you can't handle being goaded by Thork by now, then maybe you should step away for a while.

Nicely explained. I hadn't thought of that. Kudos.

Sorry, but where exactly did you get the "eye level" from?

I've already explained that, but... It's from the self-leveling nature of a panorama. The horizontal center of an original, well-done panoramic photo is "eye level".

But (and I'm genuinely curious) how do we know that's the case in this instance?

Any time that you pan a camera, even just being a off level becomes quite apparent, especially when looking at the horizon.  The more you pan, the more obvious it becomes.  If you pan 360 degrees, then there is just no way to hide being even a little off level unless you crop.
