Plate Tectonics

Ok admittedly up until now, i've only been on this forum for my own novel amusement. But I didn't find anything about plate tectonics on FET, how does FET explain this? Or is it the same in FET as it is to well... normal people?

I equate searching for something for something on this forum to sifting through a big pile of feces. In that you're just going to get a lot of poop.

So then how are Earthquakes explained? If FET says those don't exist either i'm going to petition the government to firebomb all of you in your own homes.

just a rumble of the ground is not clear enough proof. provide some data and file a propper report if you want to discuss this further

Well if plate tectonics isn't real...then how does one explain Hawaii?

All the Hawaiian islands were formed from volcanic activity initiated at an undersea magma source called a hotspot. As the tectonic plate beneath much of the Pacific Ocean moves to the northwest, the hot spot remains stationary, slowly creating new volcanoes. Due to the hotspot’s location, the only active volcanoes are located around the southern half of the Big Island. The newest volcano, Lōʻihi Seamount, is located south of the Big Island’s coast.

So what this means is that there is a volcanic hotspot, that the crust moves over, forming mountains. The older islands, which are the ones furthest away from the hotspot, such as Nihau and Kauai, are the oldest geologically, because they formed first and are now hundreds of miles away from the hotspot that formed them. This is also why Kilauea is the most active volcano in the world right now, because it is on the southern coast of the big island of hawaii, closest to the hotspot. But even Kilauea will soon cease being so active, because plate tectonics have pushed the crust even further away, and a new island, Lo'ihi, is forming over the hotspot! HELLO!

I know that there will somehow be a rebuttal to this, I can't wait to hear it.

I believe that earthquakes and the reasons behind them have all been rather well documented and studied.

You are misunderstanding FET's position. We believe plates exist and that they make slight movements due to convection in the mantle. We don't believe any silly "pangea" garbage.

I don't know much about pangea or whatnot, but I do feel that the hawaiian island chain, which stretches over 800 miles, was formed by slightly more than "slight" movements of the crust due to mantle convection.

I'd be interested to see quotes where Tom claims not to believe in earthquakes. I have to say I'm not aware of any. As a FE'er, I can confirm that I believe in earthquakes.

If I'm not mistaken, Tom, James and a few others believe that plate tectonics is currently happening but they do not believe that it's responsible for the continental drift that supposedly happened over hundreds of millions of years.  A subtle but significant difference.
