Does anyone really believe in the Conspiracy? Give any proof you think you have for your answer.
You, sir, can't comprehend the idea of bottoms.

no,
the conspiracy was made up by faqqers who explain a "flat" earth.
but in reality, the world can be a giant disc without one.

Even if you believe the medium of space is what causes a flat earth to appear as an ellipsoid, there are many pictures with half of the geoid illuminated by the suns light and the sun is not above the place the photos were taken from but off to one side and more sort of behind the earth.  Does the medium of space actually allow for this 'fun house' style image distortion?

Archibald.

Can i be so bold to ask is that really your picture? Or are you another one being disingenuous on this fine forum?

(way off-topic, but what the Hell)

Yes, I use my picture as an avatar.  Why would I be being disingenous?  Why do you ask anyway?  I know my shhirts a little outdated but so what its a classic movie.

a little more off topic, are you looking forward to GB 3?

Of course I am who isnt.  I hope John Goodman gets in this one, with or without B Murray the film should be a success but the idea is to capture enough of  the old essence of the GB legacy and thus preserve that scene in the new film and not mess it up like so many remakes and sequals are these days.

On topic (or perhaps off had such a shift be so lasting), I certainly believe NASA is a fraudulent agency. I think that they're reason for being so may more moral than one might suppose though.
Vongeo is a wanker, he wears a wanker hat; he always smells like urine and he thinks the Earth is flat.

Except for the part where there's not.

Just because there's proof that you're wrong, that doesn't mean it's fake crap being made up by a conspiracy.
Sometimes it just means you're wrong.

Just because there is proof of a conspiracy doesnt mean that one would be wrong for believing in it, sometimes it just means you're right.

While I do see that NASA is corrupt (what government program isn't these days), I don't see any proof for a conspiracy that spans centuries, has control over every government capable of space travel (list is getting longer every day), and somehow brainwashed every scientist for the past 100 years.

Also, I don't see any proof for a flat Earth, which works against the conspiracy theory as to why it should exist in the first place.

Maybe not.

But i haven't seen any proof of a globular earth, either.

you been studying for 10 years and you have a great passion. you have worked really hard to get into your chosen line of work. the money means nothing to you, you just have a raw passion for you area of science. your given the oportunity to work on what you have drempt of. then all your dreams are shattered and all that you believed in is not true. do you:

get a pay off and keep it to yourself
whistle blow

bare in mind that your not in this for the money, this is your dream, your lifes work. many of you have a great passion for FET. could you be paid off to keep quiet about it even if you KNEW it was flat? i doubt it. we are talking about 1000s of people who would know in all lines of work and not just goverment agencies. some aspects maybe currupted, maybe they are not. one thing is for sure, there is not a conspiracy. the most logical explanation (if there is one) is that light is being deceptive and is making the earth look like a globe

So geologists, astronomers, and other scientists observe and record data that can only come from a flat Earth, and then in a stroke of brilliance throw it all away and make up fake data that is comparable with a round Earth? Sounds like part of the conspiracy to me.

If you got results that pointed towards the Earth being flat, would you assume that this is the case, or would you assume you made an error?

If I made the same "error" time after time no matter the process I was testing, it would start to seem suspicious.

How often do people actually test for the curvature of the Earth?

but do you agree with me though? its not just scientists either. many people in many areas use data that can observe the earths shape. as nasa is such a big topic we can look at the people who work there. there would be many people with such a passion for thier work that some would want to tell the world about the earths true shape. the fact remains, if the earth is flat there isnt a conspiracy covering it up. there must be another reason why all observed data comes back showing a round earth. we have all seen it, but how can it be explained?

I don't think you understand. Nobody actually finds the shape of the Earth. It would be reinventing the wheel. They use the accepted value in their calculations.

whats so confusing? i dont see how people can get confused with pictures and personal accounts (eye witness). thats why im saying something must make the earth look round if its actually flat.

People who design rockets and satellites would certainly notice how their calculations would always be horribly wrong, as would cartographers and many other people.

That would all be well and good if mindless calculations were as far as anyone goes. The problem lies in the fact that people actually do things with those calculations. If you take into account the curvature of the Earth for a runway etc, then you will definitely run into trouble if the Earth has no curvature. If you are planning a flight using RET, in this case that the latitude length is symmetric between the southern and northern hemispheres, then you will most certainly run into trouble if you find that distances in the southern hemisphere are twice as far as you calculated.
