They seem kind of worthless, except when you have to use them.

No, really?

If it's as good or better than the College of Winterhold questline I'm down for it, but otherwise I'm not sure how much I care about this.  I was just thinking that I haven't explored Blackreach much, though.  Maybe I'll fire Skyrim up again and check that out, plus the mounted combat in the new patch.  I wonder if they'll add crossbows to the core game or if that'll only be in the expansion?

The College of Winterhold questline was kinda lame. I couldn't believe how fast I got through it.  The Thieves guild was fun, though.

I just started the Dark Brotherhood. Hope it's fun.

Every single faction questline in Skyrim is much worse than their counterparts in Oblivion.

After the novelty wore off, I really started to realize just how lacking Skyrim is. It fixed some of Oblivion's flaws to some extent, but the quests, the main forte of the Elder Scrolls series - they seriously dropped the ball on that one with Skyrim.

Dark Brotherhood is lame. Cliched and dull.

Dude what. I thought the mix of short questlines focusing more on narrative than gameplay and the radiant ones were way better than the samey dungeon-trudges of Oblivion. The only missions I really thought were lacking were Dark Brotherhood ones, and I'm pretty much comparing them all to Whodunit, which is horribly unfair.

I enjoyed the College quest more than anything else, with the possible exception of the Dark Brotherhood.  I thought the Thieves Guild questline was boring myself.

Focusing on narrative is fine, but the huge problem is that "rookie becomes leader in two days" is simply not good narrative. And speaking of "samey dungeon-trudging" - tell me if this sounds familiar. Linear corridor dungeon abundant with one of five primary enemy types with shitty chests scattered throughout, in the end there is a guy exactly the same as the ones you just killed, only with more health and he hits harder, and then there's a chest with a shitty enchanted item you have absolutely no use for due to the retarded itemization in the game, and then there's a convenient shortcut leading you right back to the beginning.

Hell, even Oblivion had more enemy variance and less linearity in dungeons than Skyrim, and that's pretty fucking pathetic.

Delvin and Vex's quests weren't very exciting, but I liked the main Thieves Guild quests.

I agree with Blanko about the dungeons. Most of them are just the way he described, imo. I do like the Dwemer ruins sometimes, but besides being a great place to get soul gems, they don't have much good loot. Also the automatons are all really easy to kill, and so are the Falmer.

I thought some of the enemies leveled up with the player. So far the only enemies that still seem the least bit difficult are those briar heart dudes.

After I do the Dark Brotherhood, I still have the Companions and the Bard's college. Then I guess I should pick a side!

The bard's college thing isn't very lengthy, I wouldn't really consider it a "faction."

I think I had that too, and the quest bugged so that while I completed the quest, it wasn't removed from my inventory and I can't remove it now because it's still considered a quest item.

That's what happened to me with "the strange amulet", at least it doesn't weigh anything. Also, I can't get rid of whatshisnames book (Thieves Guild).

Someone needs to hit some more dwemer fortresses. I'd agree with you in the old Nord ruins, but that's about it and they're probably going to revamp them with upcoming DLC, if the Game Jam is anything to go by.

Too bad the Dwemer dungeons are also all exactly the same. Once you've seen one, you've seen 'em all.

I've been playing with a lot of mods recently, and they have refreshed the game's appeal somewhat.

I hope the DLC doesn't suck. The demon form thing looks a bit silly, but if you can pick sides and be a demon hunter type thing that would be pretty cool. One of my favourite parts of the vanilla game was doing bounty hunting, but it's a shame there were never really any big hits to hunt aside from dragons, and every dragon fight is almost exactly the same.

College of Winterhold had a fun quest line, and was actually more interesting than the main quest for me. I hope there's more Psijic Order stuff in future DLC.

This.  I'm actually hoping that the next game takes place in the land of Summerset, and we can finally end this Altmer nonsense once and for all.
