I just wanted more damn monsters to fight. Fighting nothing but Skeletons, bears, and the occasional dragon isn't really my idea of exciting.
The bears, mammoths and pretty much most the big animals are annoying. They seem to take about the same hits as a dragon, and way more than a person wearing armour. I want to be able to one-hit cleave any animal in my way from the start.

There should also be way more battles for the towns.

I say all this and I haven't completed the game so who knows what I am missing out on.

How come people have such a hard time with the bears? ??? They go down easy for me.

My main issue is that the game is somewhat primitive. I mean, in most games, I can climb a ladder without going to a loading screen, or go into a pub without a 20 second wait. The lack of variety is biting after a while with the game, and making the game a dungeon-crawler is really a waste of the beautiful world they created above ground. They should have made much more of the setting.

I think I only ever had problems with bears when they happen to surprise me, especially when I was already fighting something/one else.

This. Also, the technology is there to easily make more impressive battles than they have now. 6 or 7 guys trying to conquer a city on their own isn't a war, it's a pub crawl gone awry.

I just started my first game, finally. It's going to take a long time to get used to the ps3 controller  >:( (yes, I KNOW, should have upgraded my computer instead of getting a ps3).
I'm sorry. Am I to understand that when you have a boner you like to imagine punching the shit out of Tom Bishop? That's disgusting.

I was disappointed we couldn't go into Oblivion at least once and kill some Daedra.

If you go through the labyrinth in Labyrinthian, you can. It's only one daedra, though.

IT WAS ALREADY TOO LATE. I think. I can't remember that far back. I've had the ps3 for a few months and didn't hook it up until yesterday, because I needed a router.

It took me forever to figure out how to loot a body  >:(

There's also  four more encountered during the Mehrunes Dagon quest.  I think two of which eventually respawn, but I could be mistaken.  But yeah, that is far too few.

No, they're not aliens.  I don't know what makes you think that. ???

Although it turns out that the term "Daedra" actually encompasses a huge amount of creatures, including dremora, so I have still made a mistake.  I was using that word to refer to the Daedric princes.

UESP says Dremora are humanoid Daedra, but it also says that the only variety of Daedra present in Skyrim are Atronachs.

Confusing.

Oblivion is actually just Tamriel's moon. One look at the moon and its pretty damn obvious.

Aedra means "ancestors", the original inhabitants of Mundus, while the Daedra are the non-ancestors from other planes, aliens on a dimensional level.

Daedra refers to anything from any plane of Oblivion other than Mundus.

That doesn't automatically imply a distinction from "gods."

I will probably start this when I get my new graphics card, and I can find a good high-res graphics mod.

The existence of lesser daedra and mortality of princes does.

Bethesda released one.

And it's worse than what the modders have done before the official mod even came out.

This is pretty much the best high-res texture mod there is. FXAA Post Process Injector is good for adjusting saturation, sharpening, tint, FXAA etc. to your liking, with little to no performance drops. If you want something fancier, look into ENB configurations - Superb ENB-RL is a great one - but beware that these come with drastic performance losses, so don't bother with them unless you pack a punch (on my humble machine, Superb ENB-RL drops my framerate from 50-70 to 20-40).

Other great in-game tweaks to consider:
Realistic Lighting
Skyrim Flora Overhaul
Lush Grass
Lush Trees

Well I'm looking to upgrade to a 7870 (and also overclock the shit out of it) so I should be able to handle just about anything. Thanks for the tips, I'll check those out.

I suppose you're right in reference to the general class of "daedra," but the princes are definitely immortal.  That's made very clear in the games.
