Also, I just found all three words for "throw voice" and have no intention of wasting souls on it. What a waste of time.

Seriously? I have a surplus of about thirty souls and at no point during the game I have needed to gather more souls to unlock the words I already have (except for the very first word you get from Bleak Falls Barrow).

You must simply not be adventuring enough.

I started a new character, I'm level 8 or 9.

Did you manage to kill Krosis at that low a level or did you get your words and run like fuck out of there?

Yep, standard tactic. Wear my archmage robes, Savos' amulet and Morokei for +100 magicka and +200% regen, then use double ice-spike to stagger him and let myself regenerate a bit, then Ice Form for a rest. Luckily I killed the dragon before I got close enough for him to get up, or I would've been fucked.

Also, that tactic is great when you're dealing with pretty much any stupendously powerful human-size character, Draugr deathlords for example (I'm level 9, they're a fucker)
No but I'm guess your what? 90? Cause you just so darn mature </sarcasm>

What difficulty are you playing on?

Also, +mana regen is pretty much useless because regeneration slows down to a crawl during combat regardless of your regeneration rate. Enchanting plain equipment with Fortify Destruction (or some other school) is far more effective, at 100 enchanting and 4 enchantments granting you free spells. You can have two schools of magic entirely magicka costless at once with the double enchantment perk, if you want to go for the pure mage route.

Expert, I think, and the stun combined with the time it takes to get back over to me offers enough time to almost recoup the entire cost of the spell. I'm going to start focusing on enchanting at some point, I'll probably try doing that. Also, why can you now only wear one ring?

Balance, I would assume.

You should always focus on enchanting. It's very useful for enhancing any and all combat styles. And that impact stun isn't going to save your life when you're up against groups who will rape your shit in late game if they happen to be Forsworn or some shit.

I disagree. It's worked pretty well against big groups as long as you hit the front one so the others have to move around, or just rapid-fire blindly into the group then swap to my big fuck-off sword and mop up when I'm out of magicka or space. When the magicka comes back I can just Wuld out of there and start over, letting my stamina recover.

My tactic so far has been to blast the opponent(s) with as many spells/shouts as I can manage, and then close in with a sword and shield. For dragons, I just use a bow before the spells. I'm currnetly a level 14 and am waiting to get to about level 18 before trying to recover the Elder Scroll for Paarthurnax.

Lol, I'm like level 34 now I think.  I'm working on making myself leader of all the "guilds" before I finish the dragon storyline.  Already took care of Ulfric.  I think all I have to do now is become leader of Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild.  Also want to find all the wooden masks and check out Labyrinthian for real.

The labyrinth isn't that great. All you have to do is shoot some simple spells at signs, follow the path, and then fight a (not very hard) daedra. I was expecting something epic and Daedalus-esque, and maybe a minotaur just cause.

Just got the game today.  I went with High Elf and I think I will try and work toward summoner/necromancer.  Has anybody went this path?  Any advice?

In the Fallout games I always played as a blue haired Asian female, so my character is a blue haired dark elf female. Dark elves are the closest to Asians because they are fire resistant.

Alright the conjuration thing is buggy as hell.  WTF this whole game is buggy as hell.  So far I can summon zombies, raise undead, summon a flame daemon, and a familiar.  But all they do is follow me around and sit there like idiots when I need them in a fight.  How the fuck is this supposed to work?

Sometimes companions (like Farkas and others) will just stand there and stare at you as well. I think it is a bug as they'd just stand there getting attacked until they were downed. But it wasn't a constant problem for me.

I'm now leader of the Brotherhood and Thieves Guild, in addition to being arch mage of Winterhold, and leader of the Companions.  What's there to do after this, besides going after Alduin?

Oh, I almost forgot about all the daedric artifacts.  There's that.  And Labyrinthain.  So then I'll be done and rid of this wretched game forever.  Until they release the DLCs.

Okay so in other situations the summoning works well.  The fire demon is pretty badass, unless of course your up against another fire demon, then they just sit there and shoot fireballs at each other endlessly.  I'm starting to like this path now, my character does not have armor or anything and it's nice to summon something scarier than me that can draw fire away from me.  Working on the Mage college quests first.

My friend keeps buying training then stealing the money back.

But, unfortunately for him, he bought training that doesn't help at all in combat so now he's a weakling by comparison.

I focused on kind of Spellsword related abilities at first, and once my enchanting got to 100 I now just have a set of Worn Shrouded Armor that I have enchanted to allow me to use Destruction magic for no magicka and practically hide in plain sight now that I've got my Sneak skill up pretty high.  I'm just using the regular Shrouded gloves for the x2 backstab damage (for a total of 30x damage with my sneak perks), and also am using Mehrunes Razor.  I'm pretty much an unstoppable killing machine.  Kind of OP, but hey it's not really game mechanic abuse if it's intended to be used that way.
