I don't have the patience for your guy's style. I just play and level as I go. Any character inadequacies can be made up for with enchanted equipment.

I kinda agree with you but I got into a contest about whose characters could be made nearest to optimum.  I won but I admit it was at the expense of just a little of the fun.

In Skyrim you can apparently hit level 70 if you're dedicated, which I intend to be. I think that's what I hit in Morrowind (albeit with lots of training, which is kinda cheap*).

*i.e. very expensive

Money in Morrowind is no object with soultrap + Creeper/Mudcrab merchants.

Or just stealing the weapons off your own Golden Saint. A Daedric Katana goes for 50,000 gold.

'course, none of the merchants except the two mentioned have anywhere near that kind of money, though.

Truth, although there are dudes with almost equal amounts of cash to Creeper. It's just that they have almost maxed out mercantile skills (I think the person I'm talking about has 94), and are thus shrewd businessmen.

I fear that skyrim may be too dumbed down after reading the wiki.  :'(

Read the perk page and smile a little. As long as bethesda does what they do best it could still allow intense customization of a character without worrying "if I just up on that rock I might level my acrobatics and kill my character's build" which is one reason I hated character maxing in oblivion. If they do this right then all characters will be able to max out all their skills some will just be better suited to certain things.

Also one handed and two handed weapon skills are back, smithing is a new skill, and you can poison people via pickpocketing without trying to figure out how to get an npc to drink a god damn poison vial.

It's only legit out for people who are East enough to unlock it on Steam, namely Australians.

Of course, if non-legit applies, it's been out for 360 for well over a week now.

That is correct, Skyrim allows you to wield a controller in one hand and your genitalia in the other.

Oblivion has something Skyrim will never have.

However, he doesn't make up for the levelling system, character models and facial animations.
