That is exactly what I'm telling you.  I love Walken just as much as anyone, but let's be serious here.  His appeal lies in how awkward and amusing his delivery is.  That's what it's always been.  Nobody would take him seriously as a rebel leader.

Come to think of it, he actually would have been great at voicing Cicero.

Anyone would have.  I fucking hated his voice.

I'm level 40-something and I still haven't picked a side.  Which sucks cause I don't think that even helped me in the "make peace so I can stop the dragons bitches" part.

Based on what I'm seeing, I'm going more for the Empire.  The Rebellion wants to bypass the right of law by forcing Ulfric to be the king even though they have a system that chooses a king.
And the whole thing is basically "We wanna worship our Norse Guy who became a God".  That seems to be the focus of the whole revolution and that's a shitty reason to revolt.

Then again, I only solved the dragon problem because they were annoying me.  I'm a ruthless assassin who learns who the allies are by sneaking up behind them and seeing if they react when I stand up to kill them.

I've only played this for a few hours since Christmas. I've got my mid-term break coming up, and I simply cannot wait to submerse myself in it. This thread is full of dreadful temptation and sin.

I'm amazed that you were actually able to hold on this long after you already tried it.

Well, I got pretty far into it during December/January - my character's at level 32/33 (ish). I just haven't played it that much since Christmas. The thing is, I played Oblivion through twice (as in did all the quests), and had a couple of other profiles. Easily 400 hours+ of play. Having to play Skyrim in spurts like this is killer.

I do kind of have a soft-spot for the Forsworn alright. It's all that dark, secret magic. Bet they can turn wood into gold.

Of course, the fact that they're hostile means I have become a merciless Forsworn-hunter, but if they were a faction you could join, things might have been different.

I want the option to overthrow both parties and rule the country myself. Only I, the dragon born, can fully defend Skyrim.

You'd think that'd be the most logical conclusion to the game.

I don't think I do, sorry.  I suppose there's Oscar and myself, but most of the people in this thread seem to be Thalmor bootlickers.

I was only playing devil's advocate before. The Stormcloaks are largely hypocritical chauvinists that can be even worse than the Empire at times. Also, Ulfric is a despicable war criminal. I'm honestly surprised I didn't get called on even half of the inconsistencies in my earlier bogus arguments.

The only faction I consider to have any real moral clout is actually the Forsworn. Unfortunately, the game doesn't allow you to formally join their cause, but the quest to free Madanach and his fellows from the Cidhna Mines is usually at the top of my to-do list when starting a new character.

That last line was just overkill, Oscar.  For shame.

Yeah, I think that was the point.  I hated him so much that I just could not resist the urge to kill him.  I honestly had an emotion regarding him, which is more than most video games can do for me.  Hatred is powerful.  Just ask Vader.

I once fought a giant while standing on a rock that was slightly up a hill.  The giant couldn't reach me but stood right in front of me while I ice-storm'd him to death.  Should I feel bad for exploiting things such as this?

You should feel bad for going up against a giant with anything more than your left fist.
